Science is something you do and almost anything you do is a process. Getting dressed is a process. Driving a car is a process. Science is a process. First a hypothesis is formulated. Then that hypothesis is tested. The testing of the hypothesis involves experimentation. Experiments are conducted. Results are documented. The results are looked at in the context of the hypothesis. Then based on those interpretation further hypotheses are constructed and/or the original hypothesis is amended and further experiments are planned to test that hypothesis. This process is continued on and on and on and that process is science.
Is 4 college summer classes too much?
I plan on taking some classes at the community college over summer. here is what im planning: anatomy statistics microbiology speech im really sure that speech is easy since I really don't have much of a problem of speaking in front of a large audience, but my main concern would be the other three. I am a junior in high school, and I really need to complete these classes. I ve taken biology ap in the past and hopefully microbiology would be just a review of ap bio, and for statistics, well i really rocked algebra 2 my sophmore year, so if anything I really want to try it. As for anatomy, everyone has been telling me its very difficult, and if I stay dedicated and committed I'm pretty sure I could do it, right? As long as I read every night and make flash cards etc. I think I could pull it off.. does it seem like a bad idea?

AP Chemistry over the summer? (ANSWER WOULD BE APPRECIATED)?
I have taught AP chemistry for over 30 years. You will find when you look at the College Board website that students taking AP chemistry have already had a introductory chemistry class. AP chemistry is "year 2." There are lots of concepts and skills - general knowledge, problem solving and laboratory - which students are expected to know as they begin AP chemistry. AP chemistry can be taken as the student's first foray into chemistry, but it is not recommended. I'm surprised that the school would even suggest that students take AP chemistry without a first-year course in chemistry.

How can I teach myself chemistry over the summer break?
You can learn chemistry when you are so clear with your concepts! If you feel that you can't understand the concepts then self teaching is impossible. If you have doubts it's better to clear it with the help of your teacher. In organic chemistry, writing practice is needed for sure. You will have to write the equations twice or thrice and understand what is happening in it. So the theory part in organic chemistry will be easy because you are going to write the theory based on the equation. You can write the theory by yourself if you are able to write the equation and understand the concepts in it. In inorganic chemistry you will have to remember the periodic table with its atomic number and valency. The name of the scientists and the experiment done by them. If you know the outline of experiments you can learn inorganic chemistry. Physical chemistry is simple compared to organic and inorganic. The concepts are already clear and you can understand if you read the answer twice. Main thing is you should have 100% concentration in class and while you are studying .Thank you!!

We did similar experiments with catalase in my biology class back in the day. Catalase accelerates the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. Since you're only looking for the comparative amount of catalase in the two types of tissue, you can put the tissues in equal amounts of hydrogen peroxide for an equal period of time and then titrate the peroxide solution with potassium permanganate (KMnO4). It would also behove you to do a potassium permanganate titration on pure peroxide as a control to compare with the other samples.
