App Name Recommendation

What does "recommender title" mean on a college application?

I'm trying to get the rest of my college app done besides the essay before my interview at the school in 8 hours and it requires me to put "recommender's title" with the information on the people I am using for my letter of recommendation and letter of reference. Does anyone know what this means?

Help! Resending teacher recommendation on the common app?

The common app for UND was due on 12/31 and I sent everything in on time...including a mailed copy of my teacher recommendation letter. On February 7th I got a letter saying they hadn't received the letter. I thought it was because I realized my teacher sent it by mail and not online through the common app so I pressed the "resend" button next to his name under "recommenders" on the common app. I thought "resend" meant it would send him an email instructing him to upload the document, etc. but he still hasn't received an email. I checked the email address I typed in for his name and everything seems valid.

I'm really confused and worried because he definitely sent a hard copy of the letter way back in November. I'm really stressing out about this...

How many letters of recommendation are required for Boston University?

This means you can send a minimum of one teacher recommendation and a maximum of two. But for every college you apply for on there you must submit the counselor recommendation meaning you can submit three all together. Hope this helps!

How do you submit letters of recommendation to universities?

Almost every University has electronic method of application now. They DON’T prefer sending them Letters of Recommendation (LOR). Some Universities do require hard copies of your transcript, but even they don’t ask for hard copies of LOR. This is primarily because you are not supposed to know what your recommender is writing about you. If you send them the hard copy, there is no guarantee that you yourself did not write it.Usually, during application you have to provide names and contact details (e-mail id) of your recommenders. The university will send them an email with a link. The recommender goes to that link and answers the questions asked there. Sometimes, they have to submit a PDF or DOC file.First and foremost, your professor surely knows how to write a recommendation letter much better than me. But a general structure is not state how he/she knows you (any classes or projects), what is your educational qualification, which classes or projects you took under his/her supervision and how your performance was and finally a bit of explanation of your strengths and weaknesses according to him.

What does Contact Name mean on a job application?

They're asking for your previous employers name, number and and title. Usually they want your store manager for the application but if your previous employer had multiple managers use the one that was directly above you and over seeing your position. Say you were a Cashier and your bosses name was Robin.

Contact First Name: Robin
Contact Last Name: Smith
Contact Title: Front End Supervisor

Or whatever their title was. Hope this helps! :3

Common Application Teacher Recommendation Status?

If you have requested your teacher recommendations through Naviance, you should be able to go into Naviance, click on "Colleges I'm Applying To", and then scroll down to the bottom where it says "Teacher Recommendations". Next to each teacher's name it should say "pending", "in progress", or "completed". Completed means that not only was the recommendation completed, but the office submitted it and the colleges confirmed receipt.

If you didn't request through Naviance, you will have to check with the college or the teacher to make sure it was completed.

---------------------- re additional details:

I'm not sure what shows on the common app web page. However, you are correct, you can't usually see the detail of which recommendations were done and when on Naviance. The good news, however, is that Naviance makes it very easy for teachers to do all your recommendations at once -- you don't have to fill out the common app form separately for each common app school, for example. So in all likelihood, if the teacher did any at all, he/she did all of them. Naviance is configurable by the person managing the system so I can't tell you for sure what each person can do, but it is highly likely that your guidance counselor can see what has been successfully submitted for each college. If they are not sure, tell them to go to "eDocs" and then "submission status". That should give detail on exactly what has been successfully submitted
and when.

My recommender accidentally submitted the wrong recommendation letter with typos to several schools. Is this going to count against me?

When I was on the Caltech admissions committee, I read a lot of recommendation letters. One time I read a beautifully written letter by the student’s AP Physics teacher, I believe. The letter was almost perfect: it praised the student’s creativity and curiosity, gave specific examples, compared him favorably to all the top students he ever had. It was beautiful. After lauding all his positive qualities, the letter ended by saying “…so in summary, for all these reasons, I whole-heartedly recommend [student] for admission to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)”Hilarious, no?As long as the content is good, and it is clear that the recommender thinks very highly of you…typos or mistakes don’t matter as much.

What's the maximum length of an iPhone/Android app name that fits comfortably under the app icon on the home screen?

I just did some tests for both Android and iPhone and here’s what I found out:For the iPhone, i’ve tested on 5, 6, 6S and 6S+, and the number of characters you can fit for one word is the same:You can fit in 10 characters before the ellipsis is added. But 12 characters if you have two words. For Android, tested on Lollipop and N on an Nexus 6P:You can fit in 11 characters before the ellipsis is added here on the Lollipop launcher while on the default N launcher:You can fit in 12 characters before the ellipsis is added, and 13 for two words. But some launchers allow more characters, this is Smart Launcher:Where you get 22 characters and no ellipsis. So if you want the entire name to be visible on any platform, 10 characters for one word, or 12 for two words should do it.

What is a good name for my restaurant app?

Since the app you are creating is eliminating the need of a physical waiter and bringing all the interaction in their hands in real time, the name must resonate the form of convenience you want to bring.I suggest you to go with the following names:1> W8TR or Waitr or Waytr2> Restauro3> BonAppetit (French, used as a salutation to a person about to eat.)Combined with any of the above names, if you have a solid user interface, including wearable support (May not include in MVP stage) this app can be a game changer for many. It can also help restaurateurs calculate their accounts and customer behavior & offer them discounts based on that.Have a cool app idea to launch? You can reach out to me for a free consultation at anupam@sodio.tech
