American Apparel Online Application Follow Up?
Unfortunately, most people in those positions are flooded with responses and might forget to get back to you. Also, people these days are really flakey and might not get back to you at all. So don't take it personally if they don't get back to you. You do want to express your interest though. Make sure they know how much you want the job. Since you applied over the internet, I'm not sure about calling your local store. Typically, you could express your interest to the store manager. That is a great idea, but because you did it online i don't know. IT wouldn't hurt to go into your local store, see f they are hiring and fill out an application there.
Payment cannot be authorized (American Apparel)?
I'm trying to order something from American Apparel right now and each time I try to pay it keeps saying that the payment could not be authorized. First it was with the credit card.. so I thought that was the problem so I used the PayPal option which is on a different card... It still came up with the message 'payment could not be authorized'. I'm getting next day shipping and everything because I NEED these items NOW. They're for a costume my friend and I are doing and I NEED them on friday.. This is driving me nuts. How do I solve this issue? Please please please help!

This might be a stupid question, but are Americans allowed to travel to Cuba? What are the rules? Do you have to watch what you say? Do you have to dress a certain way? Is fashion designing good career option?
It is a great career, if you have talent and the passion to pursue it. Your skill set can be developed with the right training. It is much easier to launch a career in fashion design by attending school and earning a Bachelors in Fashion Design or Architecture, believe it or not. Fashion Merchandising is more the business side where you would focus on buying, planning and forecasting trends, therefore, you will not get the training necessary to function as a designer. Nonetheless, it is possible with a degree in Merchandising, but it will be far more challenging.As a “fashion insider”, I can tell you that being a designer is not easy. There will be challenges and if you work for a company instead of launching your own line, there are guidelines that you must follow. You will not always get to make the designs that you want. Many fashion designers have 10–12 hour days if not longer and very little work life balance. I believe that all of this is important for you to know more than the good stuff because there are always aspects of your job that you will not like. I say this not to discourage you, but to give you an idea of what to expect and to help you determine if that sacrifice is worth the investment. However, if all of what I have said doesn’t faze you, go for it!
