Are All 2001 Honda Civic Hoods The Same

What year Honda Civic should I buy?

i have 3-4k and i would like to buy a honda civic but i dont know what year is best. im looking for one that runs well and looks cool. im going to be improving everything under the hood as well as the body over time and eventually i want a car i can be proud of but for now i just want something to work on that will get me to work and such...

How to open a hood on Honda Civic that wont open?

if you are talking about the lever you pull up on under the hood to pop it... that is a secondary latch that just keeps the hood down in case the primary fails, the cable is attached to the primary. You will need to get to the latch assembly not the lever under the hood. I have never dealt with this on a honda (yet) but it happened on my truck and I had to drop the bumper to make room so I could get leverage, my guess is you will have to do the same, the hood does not need to be open to remove the bumper. Once you drop the bumper you can lay down or kneel and reach up with some channel locks or something and pull on the cable AT the latching mechanism. Your bumper should only take about 30 minutes to drop, I dont know the year of your civic but on mine (88-91) all you would have to do is pull the front bumper blinkers and that would reveal the bolts that mount the bumper support on, before you loosen those be sure to remove the screws holding the plastic under fender guards on.

This is my best idea, perhaps you dont need to drop the bumper as long as you can get your arm up there with a tool and can get enough strength to break it loose. Good Luck!!

How much it should cost to replace hood from Honda Civic 2001 EX?

that sounds about right since typically the hood hinges are welded on, if you were to do it yourself, but lets put it this way, a new hood, is prolly 2-300, the labor is about right since its a good 3 hour job, they need to pull off the fenders and anything in that area, odds are its something that needs to be welded (that takes no how) the paint for the hood, the new hinges, to do the whole deal your looking at in all reality 900 bucks. Honda likes to bend people over and screw them hard, theyll charge people 700 bucks just to replace a side mirror, the cars are decent but the people suck

Will a 2001 honda civic ex hood fit 2000 honda civic ex?

I honestly doubt it will since they are different generations. The car is a 6th gen and the hood is a from 7th generation car. 6th Gen is from 96-00 and 7th Gen is 2001-2005.

How much would it cost to fix a roof on a 2001 Honda Civic?

A guy down the street from me has a 2001 Honda Civic for sale for a great price, only $1000. The catch is that the hood came up while he was driving down the highway and the windshield is smashed in. Also, the roof sustained some damage where the windshield meets the roof. The roof has to be repaired in order for the windshield to be installed properly. I know nobody can give me an exact cost for repair, but just a rough general estimate is fine. The damage isn't that bad at all, but the repair has got to be pretty much perfect for the windshield to fit right.
So how much might it cost to fix the minor damage to the roof? Is it worth it to fix, or should I just stay away?
Thanks

Why won't my honda accord 2002 hood close?!!?

The main latch is all gummed up and won't reset. Get a can of PB Blaster and soak the latch completely. There will be a thin braided steel cable that connects to the latch (this is the release cable that you pull from inside the car. Follow the cable til the end and use a flat screwdriver and push whatever it connects to toward the passenger side. This should reset the latch and allow the hood to close completely. You may want to do this 5 or 6 times (spraying the latch in between) to try and get the latch loosened. The latch will need replaced soon.

Can you open the hood of a Honda Civic from the outside?

I had my car broken into last night. I have an aftermarket alarm system that must be deactivated by remote or else opening the door will set it off, even if you have the key. This morning I found my car with the hood open. The culprit had disconnected the battery to disable the alarm. My question is, did he open the hood to disconnect the battery first or did he someone open the door first and then open the hood? There was no damage to the car. Strangely he/she took only my spare change and airfreshener. The stereo was still there. Can someone explain this please? Thank you.

2001 Honda civic sedan heating up and stalling?

My car stalls.. (1.7l 2001 honda civic )

The engine is reaaaaly hot when I open the hood after it stalls, and after letting it cool down the car will drive another 10 minutes then stall out again.

The temperature guage doesn't register it

And it seems as if the 4 modules on the top of the valve cover (1.7l engine 2001 civic sedan)

I think they are heating up then shutting the car off to prevent damage maybe..

I wired up power to the radiator fan, and while that can is on it hasn't stalled so it must be the heat that's causing it cuz the fans keeping it cool in there

It seems as if the head is coming from the headers, but maybe not..

Help!!

How similar is the Acura Integra to the Honda Civic? How do the two compare?

Im going to compare vehicles from the same years. Stock Honda Civic from 96-2000 comes with a SOHC D16Y7 or Y8 with about 129HP. Stock 1999 Integra GSR comes witha DOHC B18 with Vtec at 170HP. The LS model only comes with 140HP and doesn't have vtec. The difference here is the additional camshaft and displacement.Another difference is that the B18 in the GSR can be upgraded by installing a new valvetrain and cams from a type R engine. A B20 block from a CRV could also be transplanted to the B18 head to increase displacement as well. The Integras have more tuning capabilities as wellIntegras have disc brakes all around while the civics do not in these years. Only the performance models have comparable specs. The Civic and Integra Type R are two different machines entirely. 1996 EK9 Civic type R is a hatchback and has a B16 dohc 1.6L engine with vtec at 182HP. The 1997 Integra type r has the B18C5 with vtec at 195 HP. ITRs are always coupes. Both vehicles have high redlines 8500 but can safely push to 9200 with the ITR valvetrain. Both Type Rs have disc brakes all around. The main difference is displacement and vehicle weight. Both have enormous aftermarket support due to both being essentially Hondas.Heres a video below. Watch and see which Honda wins the race. This poster also has videos of the stock Civic and Integra as well.
