Are All Printers Usable For Printing On Transfer Paper With T-shirt Ink

How do I transfer a t-shirt design I drew into something on the computer that the printers can work on & edit?

What did you draw it in, pencil or ink? If you drew it in pencil, I would suggest that you trace over it (maybe on another sheet of paper) in ink so that the lines are crisper when you scan it, and it will be a lot easier to work with.

The artist at the printer will be using either Adobe Photoshop and probably one of two vector art programs, Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand. It is possible to use a technique called "halftone" to essentially give yourself more colors. A half tone is like a gradient, so for instance...if you wanted to use the colors red and yellow, you could also get an orange by combining the two colors in halftone.

Other than that, an artist should have no problem working with your design.

Do you know how to get exact color by sublimation transfer printing?

In decorating products via sublimation transfer printing, it is important to realize we are working with semi-translucent dyes. This results in the background color of an object changing the color we are trying to print. While white items are the most common to decorate, white points vary significantly between the different sublimatable items available. Colored garments complicate the situation further and can significantly change how the artwork is reproduced. The result of this is that each substrate requires different outputs to get the same color results in the end product. With all of these variables, it’s understandable that many decorators have spent a considerable amount of time cursing their sublimation system for not producing the right color. All of that frustration can be avoided. Color management may at first seem like a mystical event that takes place inside our equipment. Once the proper tools and techniques are employed, achieving accurate colors can be just a mouse click away.

What is the best inkjet heat transfer paper for homemade T-shirts?

What is the image like that you are wanting to transfer, and what is the colour of T-shirt you wish to transfer on to? I'm unsure whether or not you can get it in Canada but Jet Pro Soft Stretch (JPSS) is the best paper in my opinion for home use on light coloured T-shirts. I've tested around 20 different inkjet transfer papers and this came out on top after washes. It has very little 'feel' to it so the transferred image feels as much like the t-shirt as possible. It also gets softer after washing and doesn't fade as much as other do! Depending on the image you want to transfer, and the colour of t-shirts you are transferring too will be a factor! If you can provide more information, I would be happy to tell you the best paper for the job.

How can I print a picture on a mug using iron?

You can not unless you already have printer, transfer paper, & ink specifically for that purpose and mug surface that is specifically pretreated for that. What you are seeing in mall kiosk etc. are using dye-sublimation printing techniques. And for that, you need to get printer setup specific for that. And you would need mug pretreated surface for this purpose. If you do not have tool already, it is much cheaper to order it online or ask one of those mall kiosk operators to make one quickly.Alternatively, many of college or community center that offer design course often have equipment necessary for doing dye-sub printing. In the case you would only need pretreated mug cup and heater. (you have to note, school rarely have transfer heater for something product specific since that is not their goal).Alternatively, if you have laser printer, you can try acetone transfer or other photo transfer technique. Most of these process are not dishwasher safe or last very long, so that too need to kept in mind.
