Are Canadians Better Than Us Citizens

Which is better, Canadian or Australian citizenship, in terms of access to countries, work culture, monthly savings, and anything else?

It’s always a tough call to select a destination for immigration among the two. For me, there is not much to choose between the two when it comes to infrastructure, economy, living standard, and quality of life for immigrants. The job opportunities are also good in both the countries, as both the countries are facing skill shortage due to demographic challenges.AustraliaAustralia is known for its vibrant lifestyle, sports and activities, nightlife, fashion, beaches and fun. Though, cost of living in Australia is higher, but it is also known for offering high income jobs to balance the same. In terms of access to other countries, access to NZ can be considered as bonus if you prefer.CanadaCanada is better than most advanced countries in terms of low crime rate, tolerant society, cultural diversity, (and acceptance for the same among people). It is also a wonderful place to settle with family. Talking about the cost of living in Canada, it is certainly lower than Australia in many Canadian provinces. Though, climate of Canada can be extremely cold in few provinces, especially, if you come from a relatively warm place or country. So, it’s up to you to decide which country you want to move. To me, the first step is to determine your eligibility and find out in which country your chances of securing visa are higher. You may check your eligibility for skilled visa in both the counties below:Australia Immigration Point CalculatorFederal Skilled Worker immigration point calculatorTo get the further assistance for immigration to Australia or Canada, you may email your query to email id- info@visasavenue.com to get relevant reply from the registered migration expert. You can also visit the website of Visas Avenue (www.visasavenue.com) to get the complete information about immigration process and other visa factors in both the countries.

Do Canadians have better snacks than Americans?

Not necessarily. We have generally the same ‘snacks’ as are available in the US. We do have ‘Ketchup’ flavoured potato chips, and our Mars bar was a little different from the one in the US, but those were minor things. We have potato chips, candy bars and other sweet confections, just like you do in the US. Availability of specific brands varies with the region you are in. We have cookies, and cake and other baked goods sometimes with regional variations on the presentation.Just like in the US, Coke and Pepsi are the ‘main’ brands here for carbonated drinks, but there are also many other regional players in the market like Crown Cola and Seven Up. At one time Canadian ‘Mountain Dew’ was different than the US version, but that changed some years back.If you look around you can find ‘better’ (less salt and sometimes less sugar) snacks, but you can sometimes find similar one in the US as well.

What is more valuable US citizenship or Canadian citizenship?

Most people, especially wealthy people, would say that Canadian Citizenship is infinitely more valuable ...Why? The USA passport is the “most expensive document in the world” because USA passport holders have to file a lot of periodic & annual reports revealing all their assets; They have to file these papers & pay USA income taxes (or face criminal penalties) even if they don’t live in the USA.Canadian citizens, once they leave Canada have no paperwork nor financial obligations to Canada.Further, USA citizens abroad are often called “Toxic Americans” by bankers and business people. Why? Because so many non-Americans who will no longer do business or open accounts for Americans. Those who do business with them have been fined, jailed & otherwise get into serious trouble for “conspiracies,” embargo breaking, and many other things that the USA considers criminal —but which may not be crimes in their own country. For poor but ambitious and talented people, living and working the USA may offer more opportunity. But one can live & work in the USA without ever seeking citizenship. This is not meant to be a rant against the USA, but it is IMO what most bankers and lawyers would tell a prospective USA citizen.

Canada Vs. USA, Which is better and why?

Cost difference: gas is more expensive here (Canada)

Housing prices differ greatly from city to city, but seem to be pretty high...on the radio this morning, they said that here in Victoria BC, the average price of a house is approx. $550,000 :-(

Contrary to the first poster, we are "at war" in Afghanistan, however most Canadians do not condone it.

We, for the most part, are a peace loving country. We DO NOT feel the need to carry a gun with us.

Laws: drinking age is 19 (18 in Alberta)
We do not have capital punishment
Marijuana is pretty much legal (unless you're growing and trafficking)
Gay marriages are finally legal.
Abortion is legal everywhere.

Schooling-not sure exactly what the differences are...but it would also depend on the province, and the city that you moved to...University is about $5,000/yr in BC (as far as I can remember)...We have private and public elementary to gr 12 schools, as well as private and public colleges and universities.

We have 5% GST, and each province has their own amount of PST....(sales taxes)

Travelling in Canada is expensive (via trains and planes)...

We have a higher rate of immigration than the usa (we have one of the lowest birth rates in the world)..

We have more than two government parties to vote for.

Alcohol is only sold in liquor stores-not available in grocery stores.

Cell phone plans are expensive, but prices are supposed to go down with new gov't regulations.

A lot of our media/television stations/shows come from the usa. However, Canadian media covers more world news than the usa does.

I'd say that we are much less conservative than the usa.

We use KMs rather than Miles... and Celsius rather than Fahrenheit.

Canucks spell words with a 'u'...such as in favoUr, neighboUr, coloUr ect ect!!

AND, of course the big one is universal health care for everyone in Canada.

I hope that that helps!!

Feel free to email me if you have any more specific questions!

What the he!! is with the four bad reviews??

Z-pot isn't technically legal, but at least here in BC, you can smoke it pretty much anywhere without getting in trouble....

Why do canadians think they are better than americans?

Canadians actually don't feel like they're protected by the US barely any countries hate us like they do the US, so we actually don't need to much protection seriously go to other countries and tell them you're an American they will despise you, say you are Canadian they will love you. I don't think the US is all bad but over 50 % of the country is filled with extremely naive and ignorant people. There are some good people though.

But I will list some reasons why Canadians would think they're better then the US.
-Better economy, Canada's keeps getting better when America's economy is becoming ****.
-Less violence, less racism, less gangs in Canada.
-More natural resources.
-Free health care.
-Better education system.
-The people are nicer, and more accepting.
-More jobs available.

There are more also, and by the way I have lived in the US and Canada and Mexico. And I like to live in Canada the most, I don't think we are better but I like living here more.

We may not be the greatest at sports, and we may not have a lot of famous people from here, but that is not what makes a country great.

Here are other reasons why they would think Canada is better:

Do you see how Canada is ranked higher than the US. If you didn't go to the link it said that the top 5 were:
1. Iceland
2. Norway
3. Australia
4. Canada
5. Ireland
The US isn't even on that list, aww but you guys thought you were so superior and the best, what a wake up call.

Oh and I love how this question asks why do Canadians think they are better than Americans when in reality proven by these comments Americans think they're better.

Is Canada better than America?

I'm moving to Ontario soon, and was wondering if Canada is a better place to live when it comes to crime rate, non-corrupt political leaders and health care. Basically your everyday worries here in the USA. Also, if you've ever been to Ontario, which town or city would you recommend? I've been to Windsor, Ontario (I'm from Michigan) but would rather not live near all the noisy bar hopping tourists. Thanks in advance.

Are Canadians more patriotic than Americans, or do they just have better National Anthem?

One is no better than the other. Both countries have anthems that sing the praise of those who built the nation and what they stand for. And it sings praise of the land itself.

I see no difference. I have attended many games both in US and in Canada and the locals do with such fervor that other countries who are not so patriotic need to learn from the fine examples set by the Canadians and the Americans. They both are GREAT Countries in their own mite.

Is it true that Canada is better than America?

This really isn’t even a valid question.Health care:USA - the singularly most expensive and non-trustable health care in the world. 70% of all bankruptcies in USA are because of health care bills.Canada - Free-to-the user. NO CHARGES.Life expectancy:Canada - 81 years, among the longest living peoples in the worldUSA - 78 years the lowest in the OECD, by a WIDE margin.Maternity leave:USA - Six weeks, no pay and if you don’t come back in six weeks, your job is gone.Canada - One full year with “almost” full pay. Your job is guaraneed to be there for up to two years.Schooling:USA - No. 34 in high school educational standardsCanada - consistently among the highest four in the world.Higher education:USA - the singularly most expensive in the world. A four year degree can cost up to USD400,000Canada - Free (Quebec) or very reasonably priced. All applicants that qualify can study - having wealthy parents is not necessary.Personal safety:USA puts more prisoners (on a per capita basis) in jail than the any other country, by a factor of seven. 50% of all released prisoners are in jail again within 18 monthsCanada - has among the lowest prisoner population and lowest repeat crime rates in the worldSociety:USA - I look after me, and you look after yourself. A general “population selfishness” which most persons, from any other country, cannot understandCanada - Who cares, we pay our taxes and live our lives peacefullyVacation time:USA - NONE, absolutley no guaranteed vacation time, and many don’t get any.Canada: Varies between provinces. Most employees start with two fully paid weeks and it goes up from there.Standard of living:USA - VERY UNEVEN, with the great majority living poorly by European or Canadian standards. 49% of Americans cannot pay an unexpected $400 bill without borrowing money this week. (Source: The Economist, this week’s issue.)Canada - Uniformly high with far lesser difference between high and average paying jobs. Not that it matters to you, I hope, but minimum wage is up to double what it is in some US states.I can go on…Choose carefully

Are Canadians nicer and more friendly than Americans?

In Canada virtually everyone will give you the pleasantries, but very few will give you the time of day. There’s not really any desire to talk to the other person (and there can be a real hostility toward Americans, which in itself is not very “nice”), just get through the interaction and get them on their way. No one will slam a door in your face, but few are genuinely warm, outgoing and interested in new people, and this is even true in little towns. Their comedy shows (which I tend to like) also show a cynicism that Americans tend to lack.Meanwhile, in the US, people are just genuinely interested. In fact, the people in Canada I met who were interested enough in other people to hold a conversation had actually spent substantial amounts of time in the US. Americans are less consistently polite. You can end up with some pretty hilarious stories of rude people, but they’re a minority. More likely you’ll just end up chatting with someone, whether a cashier or someone you meet who is working on the street. If you are at a coffee shop approaching closing time (or just after breakfast), they might give you an extra cup just because it’s better for it to be enjoyed than to go to waste. They smile more. They’re less formal. Even in a job they hate, people are more likely to find the silver lining and just chat with people to make the time go by.A friend of mine visited from Central Europe for his first North American trip and he didn’t really notice Canadians as being nice or mean, but almost the minute we crossed the border he was absolutely blown away. Just everyone we met “oh that person was so nice!” “these people are so nice!” “this person is so nice!” One person in the US did correct his pronunciation (when he obviously had an accent), and we laughed about that. But that was one person. My preference may be obvious, but neither is really better or worse than the other. It’s a myth that Canadians are nicer, though. They’re more polite and less friendly.
