Are Chevy Cobalts Nice

Are Chevy Cobalts good cars?

I'm looking to buy a new car. The car I have right now is ten years old and has a good number of problems with it. I have tried dealing with it as long as possible so that I can continue to save money for a newer car, but it's getting difficult, so I'm starting my car search now. I was originally looking at Honda Civics, specifically 2006 or newer. However, I've recently been looking at Cobalts because they're cheaper and also seem to be good cars. What are your opinions on the cars?

How good are Chevy Cobalts?

My uncle had one it was the SS model and 5-speed. It was silver red and black it was a super nice car and I loved driving it. As far as problems his did fine other than an air condition prob at one point.

What can i do to make my Chevy Cobalt faster?

do the basics first, intake, header, exhaust. Torque dampner to prevent wheel hop, racing cam, ect.

Check out some of the sites that I listed in the source page.

How do you change the oil in a 2007 Chevy Cobalt?

You need a 15mm wrench  and a 32 mm socket and a drain pan.So, go to Walmart and get the wrench and the socket. Buy a drain pan  as well.Unless you have a salad bowl holding approximately 4.5 liters.Warm up the engine and raise the vehicle.Or buy ramps. Crawl underneath the vehicle and crack open the drain plug. Drain the oil. Re-install the drain plug . No need to replace the drain plug gasket as it is an O-ring. Good for almost ever. Tighten it by hand and a quarter turn with the wrench . No more!Get a 32 mm socket. Remove the plastic ( useless piece of shit engine cover)....just pops off and throw it in the garbage. It serves NO purpose!Unscrew the filter housing cap and replace the cartridge filter.Pour some 5W30 oil in to it, start the car....rev it up until you have pressure, shut it down, wait a couple of minutes and pull the dipstick. Check the level and you're done....almost!Pour the used engine oil in a suitable container and take it where it can be disposed of properly!

Are Chevy Cobalt good on gas?

I have a 07 LS and I've gotten it (briefly) up to 43.0mpg on the dashboard. However, this is when everything runs perfectly, meaning it's in the 70's, lower 80s F outside temp, sunny, not using any lights, motors, wipers or A/C, while driving 55-60mph for several hundred miles on a long trip. This is also with a 5-speed stick shift, not automatic, and the standard 2.2L ecotec engine. When the temperature dropped in the evening, so did the mileage.

On average I get 33mpg in the winter and 37mpg in the summer on local roads. Highway mileage will be higher. It's up to 56000 miles now and still doing very well.

Are chevy cobalts get good gas mileage?

I have an '06 Coupe,I get mid 20's in the city and mid to high 30's on the highway if there's no traffic and I can keep it on cruise control.

Is the chevy cobalt SS/TC a good first car?

Try looking at a cobalt LT, the insurance is much cheaper, and the gas mileage is better....

How long can I expect my Chevy Cobalt to last?

Mine has over 180,000 miles on it, without any major issues. 12 years and that many miles causes wear on lots of things, and all cars, as they age will need things replaced or serviced.Modern car drivelines are very robust, and I would expect that just about any car can make 250,000 miles without any major repairs. That said, what tends to wind most cars in junkyards is when neglect costs more than the car does. Shocks, balljoints, brakes, an alternator, perhaps a starter, or a clutch are all wear items at a certain point, but people tend to ignore them until the issue is so bad that the car cannot be driven or pass a safety inspection. When that happens, the car is discarded not because it really “failed” but because something wore out.I often have cars come into my shop that clearly have had almost no maintenance, and because of that the car has all sorts of little issues. Also, we have cars come in with huge mileage that are obviously well looked after, and the car seems much newer than it is.In short, it should last quite a long time if you maintain and service it, but not long at all if you do not.
