Are Dogs Supposed To Get Depressed When Losing Their Teeth

Do all chinese crested's lose their teeth?

You can't really say ALL but yes quite a few of them do as they get older.

They do not have a proper root system like regular dogs.
Their teeth aren't actually 'teeth' but rather 'tusks'
If a powderpuff has been shaved to look like a hairless the surefire way to tell if someone is faking it is to look at their teeth... hairless cresteds teeth are totally different than the powderpuff variety.

Even the breed standard states that they do not have to have full dentition.

EDIT - Umm Kadan, I didn't give you a TD but you are wrong,, sorry. Do some research into the Chinese Crested breed and you will understand why (heck, my answer even says why)

Pre-Loss Bereavement concerning my dog and I am so depressed - any advise?

It began around the middle of July this past summer. I realized that, without a doubt, my dog was now getting old. I have a tea cup Pomeranian who will turn 15 in October and within the past few months he has started to act his age. I think his personality is still doing pretty well for the most part. However, he has had to have some of his teeth pulled a few years ago because they were so bad. He has had a thyroid condition for the last five years which has caused his coat to thin and not grow back. He also has a preexisting condition common in poms where he has a collapsing trachea. We also discovered not to long ago that the his spine has started to wear down and the disk spacing between his vertebrae is not what it used to be, like an older person. I saw all these things and it just hit me one day that they add up to an older dog. That has been a hard hit. I also know that he is going to get worse before then end. I sought help online and discovered that what I am going through is described in the link I found below.

The problem is that I have fallen into a state of depression. The more I try not to think about it- the more I think about it. I feel so broken inside. I emailed the author of the site in the URL above and she gave me some wonderful advise and also stated that this time will pass, but it feels like this is something that will be here to stay. I don't want to get up and exercise in the morning anymore. I don't want to go to work and when I am there I don't want to go home. It's like I don't even taste my food anymore - I eat it because I know I have to but not because I want to. It feels like my wife and I are losing our sunshine.

How can I get out of this feeling?

Do parent dogs feel sad or upset if you give their puppies/offspring away? And vice versa, Would the puppies miss their parents too?

In my experience, as long as the puppies are 7 or 8 weeks old the mother seems to be relieved to have regained her freedom from motherhood. By then, mom is getting sore teats from the pups’ razor sharp teeth and is weaning them, has weaned them or desperately wants them weaned. But usually, the pups still try to latch on, despite the mother’s attempts at restraining them or avoiding them. If all the pups disappeared at the same time she may be worried about what happened. (But I’ve never found homes for all the pups in one day.)The newly adopted puppies are more likely to be lonely. But will probably miss it’s litter-mates as much, if not more than it’s mother (as long as it is 7 or 8 weeks old). It has to adjust to being surrounded by it’s siblings…cuddling, romping, playing together. Suddenly it finds itself alone. That’s why puppies need comforting, attention and companionship from it’s new “family”.

How do I get over losing 2 dogs in 3 months?

You cry. At least I’ve cried, whether losing them two years apart or less than a month apart. You grieve. And you wait for something that tells you it’s time to get a new dog.We know going in to getting a dog that we’ll lose them, and that it will hurt. The hurt is the price we pay for years of love and loyalty and devotion. Somehow, it’s worth it. I’ve tried to have two dogs of different ages so I’ll have someone to grieve with when we lose the other one.But first, you cry.

Do puppies lose canine teeth?

Tom gave an excellent answer. I will expound a bit more just in interests of covering the question a bit more fully.Pups are born without teeth. They get their baby teeth/milk teeth/deciduous teeth about two weeks of age. The set should be in around 8 - 10 weeks and should consist of 28 teeth. The incisors come in first, followed by the canines and then the premolars. The baby teeth are usually lost around four months and replaced by the adult teeth, plus the molars, for a total of 42 teeth. The canines are often the last to fall out…at about six months. The permanent teeth come in in the same order as the baby teeth, with the molars being the last to come in - around five to seven months. By about eight months all the permanent teeth should be in. Of course it varies from dog to dog, but this is what is expected.

Dog losing teeth--Vomiting normal?

You got some good advise here you should listen to it. There is not one reason in this world your dog should be loosing teeth except for poor dental hygiene. If that's the case sure it could be the cause of the vomiting she could have endocarditis due to the bacteria on the valves of her heart. Who told you small dogs take years to loose there baby teeth. Small mouths have nothing to do with how long it takes to loose baby teeth. If they still have baby teeth after 9 months you are supposed to take them to the vet and have them extracted so they don't interfere with the root structure of the adult teeth and collect bacteria and cause tartar. The people who actually do work with dogs on here do know what they are talking about and if you think you know it all and don't want there advise then don't ask for it.
EDIT: All you want to do is argue with people.(_X_)
EDIT: If were so mean quit crying about it and report us. You need to find a hobby. :-P

When do Pomeranians lose their baby teeth?

Dogs lose their baby teeth at slightly different ages, but if front teeth are very sharp and small, then he may be only 16-18 weeks or less..At 5-6 months Permanent canines start to erupt and by end of 6 months are in. They don't finish teething (last molars) until about 7-8 months. (Pomeranians)
