Are JL Audio subs that good?
You haven't told us which JL subwoofer you're looking to buy. So for anyone to make a conclusion would be out of line. In fact, JL DOES make a "top of the line" subwoofer. The JL W7 is quite possibly one of the top 5 subwoofers ever made. Price aside, it's an unreal sounding sub and has no problems with output either. Looks dead sexy too. Sure, they'll be plenty of trendy hipsters that want to argue with me. They only like obscure brand names that nobody knows about. And once that brand name starts to become mainstream, it's on to the next one. RE Audio, Sundown, DC Audio, Incriminator Audio, etc etc. Yeah, they all make solid equipment. But pardon me if I object to the fanboys saying that JL doesn't make anything "top of the line," when in fact they make one of the best all-around subwoofers of all time. Sorry. A bit of a sore spot for me. Part two of the question, are they worth it? That's going to be dependant on how much you value 800 bucks. But I'd probably say they're not. They are stupid nice, but at 800 bones a piece, you could get TWO still high-end subs for the same price. And that pricing theme kind of carries throughout everything JL sells. Great equipment, but a bit overpriced IMO.
Best amp for 2 jl audio 13.5" W7 subs?
I want to run 1000 watts to each sub, and have considered getting the 1000 watt 1000/1v2, however what is the difference between the jl sub that puts out 1000 watts and another amp that is much cheaper that puts out 1000 watts. Cost is not too big of an issue but it would be nice to save a little, I just want the best sound quality.

There is really no amp on the market where we can measure 4 or 8 ohms at its output. That means that the ohms of the amplifier's output impedance must be much smaller than the loudspeaker's input impedance. Whats the closest sub to jl audio?
Forget JL. I like Alpine, Kicker, Fosgate etc. Whatever YOU like and WANT will be the best for you. This is not a legit question because everyone likes different subs and brand. Someone might like Kenwood for their amps, and hate their subs, and love Rockford Fosgate subs, but hate their amps. And if your thinking JL is the best stuff, your wrong. There's better stuff for cheaper price I can guanrantee it. If you want an insane subwoofer, check out the FI BTL or the RE audio XXX. Either of those subs KILLS a JL sub ANYDAY.
