Are Lpn Programs Becoming Extinct

Should I become an LPN before I become an RN?

There was a recent article on NBC News that flat out states how nurses with a BSN are the nurses getting the jobs. The time difference between an ADN and BSN program is not all that much, when you consider the end result of your time in nursing school. Right now is a really great time to begin a career in nursing, especially as ACA ramps up and the Boomers are retiring - leaving jobs AND requiring medical care.

Are LPN programs becoming extinct?

Yes.

More and more certified nursing assistants and medical assistants are doing their jobs.

When did the Vikings become civilised?

That depends on what you mean by civilized. The Norse culture at that time had laws, a high degree of equal rights, compared to many other civilizations of that time (and I’m not convinced that the conversion to Christianity did anything for the Viking women), a written language, and the longboats of that time could be considered high-tech vessels. The image of the Vikings as dirty barbarians doesn’t hold up either (again, for that time). English sources mention that the Vikings were popular with the ladies (they often came to trade instead of raid), because they bathed one a week, combed their hair and were well-dressed. Combs, tweezers, and ear spoons have been found in Viking graves, and they were said to have used tooth-picks as well.If you’re thinking about the raids/conquests, then the last Danish conquest raid to the UK was in 1069, and I believe it was the last of them all. There are some indications that the Vikings did perform human sacrifice, but none that it was a common thing nor that it happened outside of a war.… and yes, as Kim says, the word Viking back then was a verb, not a noun.

How did dinosaurs evolved into both birds and reptiles?

Evolution is interesting , take humans for instance. Somewhere in our evolutionary journey we shared a common ancestor. Then one day there was a crossroad, and then more crossroads changing us. Down one path our ancestors developed into primates. Down the other, humans. The same can be said for reptiles.During the dinosaurs reign there were also reptiles and amphibians we know today, (crocodiles, salamanders…). Some species didn’t change that much, except for their size. Thankfully we don’t have giants running around anymore. I can’t speak for anyone else but I’m happy I can swim without worrying about being eaten by titanaboa.Anyway, obviously a lot of dinosaurs became extinct. However somewhere in time there was a crossroad because of species that didn’t adapt didn’t survive. At these crossroads some reptiles developed feathers and became today’s modern birds. Others adapted by decreasing their size and taking on the features of today’s reptiles. There is loads of information on the web, even countless YouTube videos that can explain it with much more detail then myself. You can also look up facts by paleontologist. Theories may vary, but I personally believe the evolution/adaptation ideas.

Is respiratory therapist a good career choice in texas.?

Unfortunately most of what RR has posted is true. There are RT schools which are closing now throughout the US. A couple of Bachelors degree programs have already been discontinued including the University of Central Florida. A few community colleges have made plans to discontinue their programs including a few in California. I am still awaiting word our area's programs' fate. It doesn't look good for the profession. Too many new grads are not able to find word due to RT departments being forced to cut staffing. Texas is being equally faced with the possibility of eliminating the RT program which may no longer be a viable profession with decreased reimbursement and cheaper lessor educated providers providing the same or more services. It is a step backward but in reality the US health care system is broken and broke. Piling up on the RNs again with extra duties is another way to cuts costs by eliminating RTs especially since several states now have statutes to provide lower patient to RN ratios which is perceived as them now having more time for other tasks such as RT work.

So, I guess it will come down to if you want to do what an RT does you will need to be an RN or in some places you could do that with a few months of Paramedic school.
