Are Major Lotteries In The Uk Fixed

Is the national lottery rigged?

All lotteries are rigged. They are rigged such that the lottery organiser always make a large and regular profit. The prizes given no where near reflect the probability of winning that prize. For example, the UK national lottery, with tickets costing £2 each, may have a jackpot of about £5,000,000, but the probability of winning it is 1/(45,057,474). There is a corresponding disparity with all levels of prizes. If, by rigged, you mean that the selection of numbers is tampered with somehow, well, I am relatively satisfied the numbers are genuinely random. For a long time the numbers were randomly selected live on our TV screens and it looked fair to me.

Is the lottery rigged?

No, and it doesn't have to be. The odds alone are prohibitive against winning.Take, for instance, the Powerball lottery, a very popular multi-state lottery here in the US. According to their website:Every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time, we draw five white balls out of a drum with 59 balls and one red ball out of a drum with 35 red balls.Calculating the odds for winning the jackpot in this particular lottery is done as follows. First, you multiply the first matrix* by (matrix minus one), then multiply by (matrix minus two), and so on until you have reached (matrix minus (the number of balls drawn minus one)). In this case, that's 59 x 58 x 57 x 56 x 55. That comes to 600,766,320.Those would be your odds (1 in 600,766,320) if you had to select the numbers in the order in they were drawn. But, lucky you, since you only have to select the right numbers, and the order doesn't matter, you need to divide that number by the number of balls drawn, then divide by (balls drawn minus one), then divide by (balls drawn minus two), and so on until you reach one. In this case, that's 600,766,320 ÷ (5 ÷ 4 ÷ 3 ÷ 2 ÷ 1). The total comes to 5,006,386.Now, according to Powerball rules, you can win $1 million if you match just the first five numbers without matching the Powerball. And if you were happy to win just that $1 million, your odds would be 1 in 5,006,386.But not you. You have to win the big kahuna, right? That means we have to involve the second matrix. Since only one ball is drawn from the second matrix which contains 35 numbers, all we need to do now is multiply the 5,006,386 by 35, which totals 175,223,510.The full equation looks like this:((59 x 58 x 57 x 56 x 55) ÷ (5 ÷ 4 ÷ 3 ÷ 2 ÷ 1)) x 35 = 175,223,510Thus, your odds of winning this particular lottery are 1 in 175,223,510. * The term matrix merely refers to the size of the pool from which the numbers are drawn. The Powerball has two matrices — the first containing 59 numbers, from which 5 numbers are drawn; and the second containing 35 numbers from which 1 number is drawn.

What does it mean for how many Draws you get in the lottery?

I was playing the number lottery on a lottery machine, and asks me what number I want to use, how many numbers are in the game, but it also asks me how many draws I want, the bigger amount of draws I use, the more money it cost, can somebody please explain to me what draws are? If I choose more draws, is there a benefit to that?

Is playing the lottery a scam?

I've been playing the power ball and mega for 6 months now and still haven't won nothing. This morning somebody from Michigan win over 300 million in the power ball. Is the lottery for a certain individual?

I got my lottery ticket wet?

I have a winning ticket (only $150), but I got it wet. I was wondering if I could still claim. The numbers are still readable, but there is a large black splotch on the right side that makes it difficult to make them out. I was just curious because I live 3 hours away from where I can claim and I'd rather not drive all the way out there for nothing. Sorry if this is a dumb question. This is only the second time I've bought a ticket, so I don't really know what's up. I just know it says don't get wet on the back of the ticket!

Does anyone actually win the lottery or is it all just staged just so people keep on buying tickets?

The odds of a ‘6 numbers from 49’ lottery are something over 14 million to one. If you bought a ticket with every combination, you would win - possibly sharing it with another winner(s), and therefore losing money!I had a friend in the UK win a little over 12,000 pounds many years back. However, when I lived there and played (rarely), I never won more than three pounds, if I remember correctly!A few years back a UK guy won 120-something million on the Euro-Millions and just a few weeks ago, someone also won 50 or 60 million. Why stage that? HOW can you stage that?Mathematics and probability - It is the simple answer as to why casinos and lotteries don’t need to cheat. They will always have that mathematical edge!
