Who is more intelligent or smarter — men or women?
Disclaimer: This answer is based on my observation as a kid till now, in an Indian context.Both are equally intelligent. While in school, girls used to seem more intelligent because of social stigma attached to girls. Girls ended up playing lesser than boys, making them interested in studies more than boys. Boys spent most of the time playing and breaking things may be. For example, I was always given dolls to play with. Dolls were boring. I would have liked a car more. So I ended up making those dolls my students and me the teacher. That is how I played with the dolls. But boys had more fun things to play with. They would break open the toy car, look at the parts and then receive scoldings from parents and then they would not feel like studying. While in college, boys seemed more interested in studying (making them seem more intelligent) than girls again because of social stigma. Boys had to score well so they can get a job at the very least. Most girls were there because they did not have a goal. Others were rich so they just wanted a degree. Others knew that their parents will marry them off and then they won't be allowed to work because that is the way in their community. So they wanted an engineering degree so that they will get an engineer husband who earns well. Only a few girls like me and a few other naturally gifted were really interested in studying. So the boys seemed more intelligent. I did not say they were. I said they seemed. This was about my years of learning. The most wise people I know now are JK Rowling, Opera Winfrey, Bob Proctor, Shah Rukh Khan, Anupam Kher, my boss (a lady), two Buddhist monks (one a lady who looks like from the US and other a gentlemen who looks like from Europe. There were other few Buddhist monks as well but they were ordinary. Not as intelligent as these two). So it is a really a tough competition. So I think both are equal.Although looking at the way women are suppressed and confined into the houses, and not allowed to be educated much, I have a feeling that there may be more women who are intelligent but are suppressed so much that they are not recognised at all. Compared to others that answered your question, I am a dumb dumb. The answers were great, except for one thing that was left out. Asian parents expect that the child does weel in school. If he/she does poorly it is though to be a discrace. The child then does it's best so as not to bring discrace on the family. This is also true with Jewish families. Jews make up a large part of doctors and lawers.
Are geniuses born or made?
Meet my daughter, Sabeen.Aged 8, she did her 16+ Maths exam, and, in practice papers of those exams she was usually getting the highest grade, putting her in the top 6% of UK 16 year olds.She spends her entire day eating chocolate pancakes and she taught herself maths. She is a genius.But if I tell you the truth, you’ll realise she’s not. She did fairly well at school. I took her out nearly 4 years ago to homeschool her. I taught her maths using the same system that Oxford University employs. Her 10 and 12 year old siblings also did the 16+ exams early - last year - and got the highest grades in maths, but they did not do them as early as her as when she was taken out of school she was younger than them.There are people with exceptional natural abilities, no doubt, but not so exceptional that they could achieve greatness without hard work. In ALL cases where they have achieved exceptional ability or success it’s because they also worked damn hard.How many people have ever won Wimbledon with less than 5 years intense training? No-one. Why aren’t there any freaks of nature - geniuses - when it comes to tennis?If geniuses are born how come Michael Jordan, the greatest basketball player that ever lived didn’t even make the varsity basketball team in his sophomore year? Is he a basketball genius or not?There aren’t people with such exceptional ability in tennis or basketball and there aren’t in maths, physics, and everything else.If anyone still thinks there are geniuses out there, my daughter spends her entire day eating chocolate pancakes and she taught herself maths. If women are equal how did they become "oppressed"?
Women who try to say they are equal to men are trying to sell a distorted perception that stems from jealousy. Those who try to say they are oppressed have to take the position of a victim in order to make their bigotry socially acceptable. In reality though, women are neither equal, nor oppressed. Perfect example of someone trying to sell a distorted perception: "Ive never understood why some people keep confusing equality with sameness." "Equal" means "the same as." But they try to warp the definition of the word so they can slip in their own definition of "equal." And notice it is different each time.
Are girls smarter than guys?
True. we do develope quicker than guys but not all girls are smarter than guys.
