How can I be a metalhead?
A very genuine question.The best advice I can give you are as follow:-1)If you are alien to this genre then you will find it absolute noise so start witg the softest listen to the 'Post-hardcore bands/ melodic hardcore' 2) if you are already a regular metal listner then listen to the Mega four bands of thrash- Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax.3) watch all the episodes of 'Metal evolution by sam dunn'4) read as much as you can about metal so you will not feel in bunch of metalheads, you have to know it all from 'why Dave mustaine left metallica to why deathcore is evolution of metal" to do so you can subscribe to magzines such as:- Loudwire, Rock sound ,Kerrang, rovolver etc 5) There is a particular dress code for Metalheads,nothing fancy but black tshirts of your favourite bands(remember choose band merchandise over branded ones with big logo of XYZ companies)5)In my opinion a must have is thing is to have a Mega four (any one of them's Tee)6) Go to gigs they are electrifying believe me, you will love that mosh pit and wall of death things.7) learn instruments lime drums, bass or guitar or all of them .8) Remember a metalheads knows about all type of musical genre such as pop/dubsteps/hip-hop but is a dedicated metal lover so he will pay no attention to what justin bieber or 1D is doing.9)subscribe to all the Metal podcast over youtube, there are a lot of them.10)Lastly the golden words are Metal is not for posing or to show offoand if you want to show off then you are not so welcomed to the family. Be strobg because metal is about Never giving up, Rising above your haters, to be An eye opener(lyrics are powerful and does not revolve around any Fake dreamland of love, One horned unicorns) it is for mentally strong folks so act like that don't act dumb or showy.I hope these are a few steps and you can promote your local bands too.
Why are so many metalheads Atheist?
I seem to have noticed that most Atheists are metalheads or associate with rock music. Am I the only Atheist that listens to Electronic Dance Music or what you ignorant fools call "techno".
Are most metal-heads atheist?
I am a metalhead and not an atheist. Some metal bands will sing about anti-religious stuff just for the fun of it. Like Slayer, they sing about anti-christianity and stuff like that and yet the singer, Tom is a catholic. He says the lyrics are 'just words'.
Why do people associate metalheads with atheists?
It's an ignorant stereotype. Many metal bands believe in God and are spiritual, regardless of association with any particular religious denomination. For example, James Hetfield, Cliff Burton, Dave Mustaine, Dave Lombardo, Dee Snider, Yngwie Malmsteen, and a ton of others claim(ed) to be highly spiritual without being religious. Rob Halford is Methodist, Tom Araya is Catholic, Ozzy Osbourne is a member of the Church of England, Nicko McBrain is Baptist, and I think Alice Cooper is also Baptist and even has a Bible degree and teaches some at a Baptist church, so a lot of them are even part of organized religion. Those are just a few examples with some of the bigger musicians in metal. There are also a lot of atheists and agnostics, to be fair. Kerry King, Jeff Hanneman, Lars Ulrich, Lemmy, King Diamond, Rob Zombie, Ville Valo and several others profess to be either atheistic or don't really know what to believe and are agnostics (mostly the latter, true atheists are rare even in metal). Really though, most people believe in God, like 98+% of Americans (and most Europeans too), and are spiritual or religious. People who play in metal bands are no exception. People just need to educate themselves on the issues better and actually do research and get the facts straight before they judge metalheads as being anti-Christ or whatever. @MIND-JACKED - not really, Black Sababth, the very first meta band, wrote tons of religious lyrics.
What do you think about the claim that "All punks, metalheads, druggies & weirdoes... are Atheists"?
I think whoever makes that claim is buried in ignorance. See Fireball's answer. Totally ignorant to even her own kind.
Do Metalheads go to heaven or hell?
Now that I explained what I listen to my question is..... I am I wrong for listening to it. I listen to what I do because I love the way that the music moves me. I don't care what they are talking about metal is metal to me regardless of the style wheither it be Black Metal or 80's Thrash and Heavy Metal. I like Jazz, Contemorary Classical (orchestra), Alternative Rock, Hard Rock, Irish and Celtic music especially when its fused to metal! this includes symphonic metal great combo!. I also write my own metal in any style I wish. And regardless of what my lyrics were I've always believed that God didn't care about what I was doing musically because I dedicated every song to him and his beloved son Jesus, even if it talked about satan coming out and killing everyone WHICH I DON"T WRITE SONGS LIKE THAT ANYMORE. So even as I listen to metal everyday like I do, and Write metal everyday with positive lyrics would I go to heaven or hell for it? I hope someone could help me thanks!
