Are People Allowed To Make Money Off Photos Of Other People

Do people really make money by posting photos on xtube? If so, how?

Advertising, and corporate sponsors. You make like 1 cent a view. That's not a lot, unless you have like one or two million views. The top people, who do have millions of views, make about $100,000 a year or so

Can I use other people's content and make money from it on my blog?

There's a general rule that most lawyers subscribe to when it comes to copyright law:DON'T FUCK WITH THE MOUSEDisney (who owns the rights to Star Wars) is very well-known for being extremely diligent and aggressive when it comes to protecting the rights to their properties.  If you created a blog that was intended to make money off of images, clips, or any other form of Disney's intellectual property, you could expect to have your site pulled down via a DMCA request, receive a rather nasty cease and desist letter, and if they wanted to press the issue, a nice process server knocking at your door someday with a summons to appear in court along with a civil complaint for $75k per violation in statutory damages.TL;DR - No, you can't.Note: This answer takes into account the comments on another answer: https://www.quora.com/Can-I-use-...

Is it legal to use other people Instagram photos and  make money out of them?

No. You can't legally use other peoples' photos for any reason, whether you are making money or not, and whether on instagram or anywhere else.In most cases, the copyright holder is the photographer. You would need to ask the copyright holder's permission to use their images. If you don't, you could be sued. Some people have been sued for using instagram photos: Controversial artist Richard Prince sued for copyright infringement Breaking copyright law also breaks Instagram's terms of use, so you could also have your account disabled if you repeatedly break copyright law: Instagram Help Center From the Instagram terms of Use:You may not use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. Can I make money on YouTube by uploading other people’s videos such as cartoons or TV shows?

Unless you have (written) permission from the owner of the content you cannot upload other people’s videos such as cartoons and TV shows, especially if they are copyrighted by the owner. If you do upload copyrighted material you could get copyright strikes on your account and often if they do not take the video down they will monetize it but all of the money you make on that video goes to the owners of the content. You can potentially purchase a license so you can use this content or use content that is licensed under the creative commons license.Find out more about the creative commons from YouTube here: Creative Commons

How could a teen make money from their photography?

OK - here is the bit you won't like.
If they are examples of your current level of photographic skill then you will not be making any money from it for a while.

The way people make money is selling either their photographs (prints, stock, submissions to mags etc) or by selling their services as a photographer to individuals or companies.

You are not at a level where you could do any of these.

Before trying to run you need to walk, in photographic terms that is learning the basics and being able to produce good shots whatever the conditions.

Try learning more about photography in general and hone your skills for a while then consider trying to make money when you can produce work to the same level as some of these photographers.

Posting other people's pictures on a personal Tumblr?

Hello, this might seem a lil out there..

I was wondering the legality/norm of posting pictures of 16 to 18 year olds that I know on my tumblr?
Most would be their pictures that they themselves posted on facebook (for all their friends to see) taken in public places. I know that I'm personally allowed to shoot/take any picture I want of them in public, but I don't know if it's okay to use theirs on my personal tumblr (they don't know I have because it's like my diary, that's why I'm not asking permission), even though I'm not making any money off of them.

Also, if I can't fro whatever reason post their picures on my tumblr, I can post my own photos with them posing in a public place, right? As well as image sharing sites like lookbook.nu (sites where the point is to share pictures for others to rate)?
Thanks in advance(:
