Are Rolling Backpacks Really That Bad

How nerdy are rolling backpacks?

They are kinda nerdy...
BUT
I bought one.. last fall I was taking first year sciences and between the courses and labs I had so many books, plus my laptop, coffee, etc that I was trying to carry always so I just sucked it up and bought one. My back is still thanking me for that decision & only one person "teased" me in our study group but then I called him Quasimodo and easily whisked off to class while he moaned about how heavy everything was... spilling part of his coffee down his hand. (hehe)
Confidence, that's all you need to pull it off... & remember, you're saving your back!

Are Rolling Backpacks Stupid?

My backpack is so extremely heavy and is ruining my back. My parents think I should get a rolling backpack, but I'm sorta hesitant, are they really that stupid? I'm also a freshman so I get teased for that; I don't want to get teased over a backpack too.

Are rolling backpacks for nerds?

Rolling backpacks are a nuisance if you have a locker, but since you don't use lockers, then I don't see why not... Kids back in elementary school used those all of the time, and they were fun.

At my old middle school, we never used rolling backpacks because they got in the way and wouldn't fit in our pathetic lockers. :P

You should ask your friends if they're using rolling backpacks. Also, can't you just carry it on your back (I know that it's heavy, but that's an alternative to rolling it around)?

Hope you'll be happy with your outcome; good luck.

Rolling backpack vs. Normal backpack?

Oh god. Unless you have serious back problems or something, go for a normal book bag. It's really only ok in elementary school. I have a friend in HIGH SCHOOL that still brings a rolling book bag.. Feel so bad for her, she gets made fun of all the time because of it. It really is social suicide.

Pros:
-Your back wont hurt.
-There may be more space than some book bags

Cons:
-You will probably get bullied.
-Rolling book bags do that annoying tilty thing where if you move a certain way it will lean over
-More trouble getting down a hall
-Considering your probably somewhat tall, grabbing the handle that will be much lower than it would be for a first grader will probably kill your arm, elbow and shoulder
- Again, social suicide.

By the way, north face is great. Has a lot of room and they will hold up all 4 years of high school. Whatever you do, don't get a jansport. Had one for the first 2 months of school, and it ripped. Not worth it if you have a lot of stuff to carry. Before you do jansport, go with a nike, swiss, under armour.... Those are all great bags with a lot of room.

Are rolling backpacks childish?

Not necessarily.Last year, I was carrying quite a few textbooks in my (not rolling) backpack for my midterm finals. When I heaved the backpack on, my back went out. I tried weightlifting, but the damage was done on my back. It messed up my track and field season. My jumps coach recommended that I get a rolling backpack. He advised, “I know it is not a becoming look, but trust me. Ten years from now, you don’t want back problems. I know it seems like a long time from now, but you’ll regret it if it doesn’t heal.”I took his advice and got a rolling backpack. It can be difficult to carry on the stairs, but I’ve gotten stronger arms. And in the end, my back is the thing that matters, not others’ perceptions of whether or not they are childish.

I don't want to get a rolling backpack!!!?

My mom is VERY hard to persuade once she's made her mind. I DO NOT WANT A ROLLING BACKPACK! I am going into 8th grade and she is SET on getting me a rolling backpack because normal one will hurt and damage my back. How do i convince her to let me get a normal backpack, one that goes on your back!!!?!??

Rolling backpacks: cool or not?

For the upcoming school year, I need a new backpack.
I haven't used a backpack in about three years. I've used totes and giant purses to carry my stuff in, but I'm pretty sure this year I'm gonna have a lot of stuff to carry so I'm considering a rolling backpack.
I hate carrying a lot of weight on my back and even though I think rolling backpacks are the geekiest things next to fanny packs, I think they'd be easier to have.
I'm a college student with some decent fashion sense (so you know that this would pretty much ruin my reputation) and will be commuting most of the time by bus. I live in southern California so I don't have to worry too much about bad weather.
So is a rolling backpack practical? Or are they just uncool and I should forget I ever even asked haha.
Thanks guys!

How much would you be willing to pay for a rolling backpack adaptor?

0 because I don't need one.  sounds like a cool idea but number 1. If it looks ugly nobody will buy. In order for it not to look ugly you are going to have to pay higher per product to use quality material. If you are paying higher then it is much harder to sell for a higher price! because I'm in college and do have back problems but I don't need a backpack like this especially if it'll cost more. Is there a laptop and charger holder? How many pockets does it have? What's the maximum weight it will hold? what colors are available? can it be converted easily or do you have to stop what you are doing and press all these buttons and latches?if it's a backpack, then when you convert to a roller will the arm extend long enough to be rolled by a 5'11"  sized person? Are there hidden pockets? With these questions you should describe what the product can  as well as be a hybrid backpack and roller. That is what would sell.
