Are The Poor Doctors And Insurance Companies Going To Be Harmed Financially By Obama Care

Did Obamacare give working poor and middle class more in real savings than the Trump tax cut will?

Unfortunately, Trump supporters fail to take the time to actually consider the consequences of their support. Consider his last tax cut. Discounting the fact that cuts for the other than ‘job creators’ end in 2025, consider the actual amount that Trump’s tax cuts actually give to those in the bottom 50% who actually supported him. We hear his supporters undying loyalty to him, when they have received an additional $600.00 in their annual wages as a result of those cuts, forgetting entirely that those tax cuts have not, and will not increase Federal Tax revenues with more jobs, and the promised additonal taxes promised to be paid by those new hire employees. The GOP knows it is a lie, which is why Ryan and others are desperately searching for more spending cuts to make in social programs to offset the 1.5 Trillion cost of Trump’s most recent gifts to the top 2%.Now, instead consider what the “flaming Liberals” have attempted to do instead of tax cuts which are proven not to create jobs, A much better alternative is to simply increase the minimum wage, from 7.25 an hour to something more appropriate, considering the increases in cost of living, and worker’s increased productivity.which, if actually adjusted to that criteria, would be $20.00 an hour. Even just increasing wages $1.50 hour would increase an individuals salary over $3000 a year, far more that the $600 for which many Trump supporters have pledged their undying loyalty. The amazing thing is that Trump’s loyalists totally fail to consider that at some point, they will have to begin repaying their tax cuts back with higher taxes, just as promised.Of course, we will see the usual claims that higher wages will result in lost jobs, and harm each states economy. That is false, as proven by the many states which have increased their own minimum wage rates. Why not do a Google search, instead of relying upon Fox News, the unofficial propaganda arm of the GOP?Why not consider just how much money someone actually earns each week at $7.25 an hour, Perhaps then you can understand why it is practically impossible for a family of 4, with both parents working, to survive without the use of social safety nets, you know, those services, the very ones the GOP is now seeking to remove, or greatly reduce. From my vantage point Trump is not draining the swamp, he is working to substantially enlarge it, and marketing his newly created muck and its inhabitants to his loyal supporters,

I Can no Longer Afford Health Insurance?

I buy health insurance through my employer, and I love the insurance. However, I can no longer afford to pay for it. My husband lost his job about 3 months ago and we are only working off of my income. We are barely making it. We have 4 children. I want to stop the insurance because I can barely afford to pay our bills or put food on the table, I can't even afford to pay the $25 co-pay for Dr. visits. I have been going to the health dept for all of our medical issues. The insurance comp told me they can not and will not cancel my insurance even though we are on the verge of poverty, but I'm paying United Health Care $352.56/mo. I need to know what to do to get out of this insurance policy for right now. I feel like they are forcing me to pay for insurance when I no longer want it! They said it is some type of Georgia Law. There has to be a way to end this. I need that extra $88.14/weekly. Does anybody know what I can do to stop these people from forcing me to have their insurance??

Is Obamacare good or bad?

Overall the Affordable Care Act is good. Without a public option, however, it is flawed legislation. The public option didn't survive the battle in Congress and that has done a disservice to the American public.

Businesses and individuals should have the option of purchasing insurance from the government, instead of only from insurance companies. That would provide a form of cost control or at least cost comparison. It would also help government revenues. Our choices have been limited by Republican opposition (and Lieberman) and that is not a good thing. We should not let this possible choice go unaddressed in the future.

Good and Bad about Universal Health Care?

National health care has both good and bad elements. Ignore what Americans say about Canada and Britain. There have been several people who posted here that said they'd pick theirs over ours any day. Because everyone has access to health care, there are naturally long lines and waits for procedures. But you can get them without going bankrupt as you would here if you didn't have health insurance or your insurance didn't pay for the costs of whatever you were needing done. Most European countries have socialized medicine and their health records are better than ours - better infant mortality rates, better life expectancy, etc. People think America has great health care, and it does, if you can afford it! Otherwise, you're screwed.

But neither candidate is proposing nationalized health care. McCain wants to tax any employer contribution to your health insurance premiums as income and his plans to encourage people to buy their own, along with continuing to deregulate the insurance industry, will destroy the whole concept of employer supported health care. Obama proposes national health insurance, which would allow those who do not have insurance to buy into the giant pool of insurance which includes members of Congress and other federal workers. And if you can't afford the premiums, he wants to help you pay for it. You would still see your own doctor and choose everything else about your health care.

What the conservatives ignore is the fact that we are all paying for the uninsured right now, just through property and city and state taxes. And we're paying a lot more than we would if everybody had health care that didn't wait till it was an emergency. But they care more about a fantasy about socialism than about reality.

How does Obamacare help the middle class?

I understand how Obamacare will help the poorest Americans. It means they will be eligible for medicaid.

How does it help middle class Americans? Insurance rates will go up even more now. Deductibles and co-pays will increase. Some small businesses will stop offering insurance to their employees because it will be cheaper for them to just pay the penalty (tax). Employees who are already covered will have to go out and buy insurance. If you have kids, health insurance can be extremely expensive.

I wonder if some people are under the impression that Obamacare means "free" healthcare?

What are the biggest problems with Obamacare and how will Hillary Clinton fix them?

The problems with the ACA are manyfold. First they are driving the middle class into a massive problem. If you buy your own insurance your premiums and deductibles have doubled. The ACA is basically a transfer of wealth system. Then Obama exempted many companies (thousands) from the Cadillac tax….making the problem worse. Many young people are simply going without. The system wanted them to pay in far more than their healthcare cost to support the system. They see this and know that they go to the doctor less than once a year. $150 vs $3000 sounds like a bargain. If they have no assets yet then they have nothing to lose. The only way to fix the ACA is to put a tax like social security on everyone. There will be a revolt from the people who are paying for everyone. It was a flawed system sold with lies and passed with zero republican votes. Even the architect said it had to obscure the truth.
