Are There Any Good Project Car Build Videos

Would a Camaro IROC Z be a good project car?

Yes i have a 1988 and i love it lot of stuff you can do and is just an awesome car.
I recommend getting the z28 with a 305 tpi 5 speed manual gives you 220 hp(350 only gives 230hp) and is a really good engine to learn on. the 350 is good as well and more things to do in the long run but i say work on a 305 and learn your way around it then once it goes bad drop a 390 torque in it. then you can get some serious hp.

What is a "project car"?

It is just a car that you want to work on for a hobby/fun

How can I fake a car crash for a movie project?

So I'm making this movie for a project and there's a scene in it where two people are driving down a road at night. In the scene the driver is swerving and going fast, but he cannot step on the brake because an obstruction like a water bottle or something has gotten wedged under it. Then the car is supposed to crash into either an oncoming car, or a wall, I get to choose that part. This is all going to be done on a hand held little camcorder (there is no way of getting around that) and the person who's holding it is going to be sitting in the back seat. Can anyone help me with going about how to make the crash look even somewhat real...I REALLY NEED SOME HELP!!! Oh and, it's supposed to be a fatal crash. Please anyone...thank you:)

Are jeep wranglers good project cars?

Jeep Wranglers are great projects, very simple to work on, and provide a great base for automotive repair. Just make sure that you have a plan laid out as best as possible to how your going to build and what your going to use the Jeep for. If you don't have a plan it will get expensive very fast and your project will lose direction and probably be incapable.
If it's going to be a daily driver then focus on the powertrain and drivetrain or just restore to original. If you plan on taking it off road then build towards the terrian you're going to wheel in; i.e. rocks, mud, or just general medium duty.
There are millions of Jeep forums and books out there. Also, knowing how to weld or cheap access to somebody that does would be greatly benificial to a project.
I recommend looking for a TJ (1997-2006) with a 4.0L engine and manual transmission.
4wd Mechanix is run by Moses Ludel (Jeep God) and he personally takes the time to answer questions on his forum for beginners to advanced and edits out all the fluff of folks opinons and "BUMPs".
Some references to start:
http://www.4wdmechanix.com/ and

Last thing, ensure that you read product reviews with a fine toothed comb and understand that it is just some nameless person's opinon. Don't just buy bolt on junk just because of looks and remember there are lot of parts from different vehicles that can be swapped into a TJ with skill and patience for a cheaper option.

What is a good cheap muscle car for a father-son project?

Cheap muscle cars are a thing of the past! For the most part a true Muscle car has not been made sense about 1972. After that emissions and fuel prices pretty much killed off the breed.
But Pony cars carried on. But from 1975 to 1985 they were poor performance cars. When computers became cheap in the early 80's the breed (pony cars) started making a revival in performance. When port injection became the standard the pony car breed started to produce cars that were more performance in orientation.
The above has been stated to make the case for a Fox Body Mustang or newer. There were other Ford products that are built on this chassis and also are good candidates for a build. If you want to make a "Muscle Car" that might have been here is the formula-
1. A sedan (the Road Runner and several other true Muscle cars were two door family sedans with big motors and few accessories).
2. Killer engine.
3. Shifter on the floor
4. Bucket seats
My choice would be a Mercury Marquis (1986) in a two door hard top, mated to a 351 W (ford truck, 1988 or newer) with a five speed transmission. If you have the funds and resources put 351 C heads on it and make a poor mans Boss engine. Put Cyclone name tags on it. Cyclone was the name of a special edition Mercury of the 60's into the 70's. It was marketed to get around NASCAR rules on what defined a production automobile. Mercury's answer to the Super bird and Roadrunners.
While it will not be a true production Muscle car- it could have been and maybe should have been. Such cars are referred to as phantom cars.
