What are the best kosher fast food options?
Jon appears to know what he's talking about, but for the more moderate Kosher observant person who gets dragged into a McDonald's or such a place I think one can get salad without meat on it, egg McMuffin without meat on it, French toast, or bagels with butter or cream cheese. As I am writing this it occurs to me that many Dunkin Donuts are kosher or at least have kosher options, such as an egg on a croissant for example or a tuna sandwich, not to mention the donuts that are in the name of the restaurant. At Subway too one could get a tuna sandwich.* Even if these are not totally kosher at a Glatt level required by a frum or Orthodox person, they are probably within the realm of acceptability for most other Jews who think about kashrut. I have found that everyone draws their own lines and those lines may not be in practice what the person tells you they are........ but of course that's another question!* There used to be a kosher Subway restaurant in my neighborhood, with prices much higher than at standard Subway restaurants. I don't know how long the place lasted but it did go out of business several years ago.

Here is a list of restaurants that have halal offerings. 107 American chains with halal offerings. The biggest chain listed on there is KFC which is accredited by the Halal Food Authority (HFA). The other large chain I noticed was Trader Joes.
Is it illegal to eat another restaurant's food in a different restaurant?

It is basically like going to somebody else's house and sitting in their chair.In most cases it is not illegal for you to do this, it is up to the restaurant to find you and tell you to stop. If you're friendly, act innocent, and apologize, then depending on the restaurant and who is the manager that day they might be okay with your staying as long as you stop eating outside food. Others will kick you out. If they are particularly upset they will tell you never to come back.Depending on the laws of the local jurisdiction, it may well be illegal for an establishment to allow you to bring in outside food. This is mostly about health codes, the local government inspects restaurants and tries to make sure that all food inside is safe to eat. If they know you're doing it, and they allow it, they could be violating a local ordinance. It's more of a regulation violation, whether you want to call that illegal is a matter of definition.
