Are There Any Movies That Focus On Female Characters With Aspergers

Is there any movie where there is no female character (i.e., acted by only male actors)?

Master and Commander does have one background female so I'm not sure if it counts.Lawrence of Arabia is also full of men, but there are some heavily covered women seen in the background.12 Angry Men features an ensemble of a male only cast. There's not even a female off in the background. Talk about a sausage fest.John Carpenter’s The Thing from 1982 with Kurt Russell also features a male only cast. It's about a group of scientists that encounter an alien in Antarctica that can mimic anything it touches. The computer the scientists use is voiced by a female, however.

Which fictional female characters might be on the autistic spectrum?

Well, I find Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter series and Lisbeth Salander in the Millennium series to be fairly autistic in different ways. Bones in the TV series of that name is often supposed to be autistic too, although she seems a little too socially adept to me when it suits her. The character Zack Addy (male) seems more autistic to me.Two “young adult” novels I read a couple of years ago, written by a New Zealander on the autism spectrum, definitely have leading female and male characters who are diagnosed, on medication (the female also has bipolar disorder), and who talk about it quite a bit. The first novel is Review: Stim by Kevin Berry. Its sequel Kaleidoscope is more focussed on the young autistic woman who accompanies him throughout both novels. She is definitely meant to be autistic, and is written by someone who is autistic.I also found Stim and Kaleidoscope interesting because I have spent several vacations in New Zealand, including Christchurch. The books gave me a vivid sense of an autistic person in the middle of a major earthquake.

What are some books with badass characters like Lisbeth Salander?

Lisbeth Salander and the Da Vinci Code should not be listed as similar. The Millenium Trilogy tells you important things about the real world and the Da Vinci Code panders to every known fake conspiracy.Lisbeth Salander and Sherlock Holmes were based on real people and about a real personality type. The Swedish version of Salander in the Millenium movies is much closer to what Blomkvist had in mind and to what people like her are really like. The idea that extreme athletes may be falsely regarded as anorexic is common in the US.The reality is that there never was something in literature exactly like Salander and her description is more like discovery than fiction.Salander is highly intelligent but anti-social in a manner similar to Sherlock Holmes.Currently there is a great interest in characters with Asperger-like personalities, which might be regarded as a fad. Please keep in mind that both Salander and Holmes were written about long before any current fad.The person closest to Salander in literature is Sherlock Holmes.More important than Lawrence of Arabia's exact sexuality is that his mind tried to establish a dictatorship over his body. The exact same applies to both Salander and Holmes.

Is it possible that Natalie Portman's character, Emma, is autistic in the movie No Strings Attached?

I would urge the OP to give their reasons for asking the question. If the OP is becoming romantically involved with a female with autism then the female may be conducting herself in a way that reminds the OP of Emma's character. What I'm trying to say, is that it can be rather too easy for a lady with autism to accidently look as if she's asking for a no strings physical relationship where in fact she's looking for an exclusive relationship, and just sounding a bit like she wants something more open.NT sexual partners rarely give explicit verbal permission to progress to a certain status (are we boy and girlfriend then?) or physical base (shall we have sex then?).Explicit verbal premission or attempts to solicit verbal permission are probably more common from those on the spectrum. For NT relationships, verbal agreement is often only needed for 'non-standard' arrangements such as open or poly relationships, or s&m relationships so can be confused as such.

Are there any character examples from film/TV that resemble a woman with Aspergers?

Probably the most famous woman with autism is Temple Grandin.Temple Grandin (film) - Wikipedia

Can someone tell me the difference between OCD vs Asperger's syndrome. r my examples correct?

Aspergers = A social "disability". The trait that some people mistake for OCD is the daily routine and not likely change (I don't have this trait)

OCD = A mental illness characterized by doing thing repetitively doing things or being too clean.

I'm going through your examples and tell you if their OCD, aspergers both or neither

How can I get a girlfriend if I have aspergers?

Not true. I have Aspergers and I am happily married.

I think it is your negativity that turns women off. Also, I think you might be making the mistake of going for the shallow types, in which case you really shouldn't be surprised when a shallow person turns out to be shallow.

I can't offer you any good advice. I only found my wife when I had completely given up trying and had accepted that I would be single the rest of my life.
