Are There Any Songs/song Lyrics Out There About How Important Education Is

Who sings this song...here are some lyrics: "i will be your man, you will be my girl"??--this is all i know

Lemar - If there's any justice

"If There's Any Justice"

Ohhh,
Ye-ah-ah,
Yeah,
I would be your man,
You would be my girl,
Oh yeah,
I beleive,
I do,

If there's any justice in the world,
I would be your man,
You would be my girl,
Oh yeah,
If i'd found you first you know its true,
He would be alone,
I would be with you,

When you decide, dont let me down,
Coz there's nothing to be certain in my life,
And you've seen a thousand times
There's not much justice in the world
If there's any justice in your heart,
Your love pity it changed,
Ease it into heart,
Oh no,
Why dont you remember how it feels,
Not to give a damn,
For anyone but me

I cant believe you'd be deceived,
Changing memories from truth to fantasy,
Where there's nothing left but tears,
And there's not much justice in the world

Just because he's wrapped around your finger,
Don't fool yourself with dreams that might appear,
If in time you'll stop and trust your feelings,
The truth is out there somewhere
It's blowing in the wind

If there's any justice in the world,
I would be your man,
You would be my girl,
Oh yeah,
If i'd found you first you know its true,
He would be alone,
I would be with you,

When you decide, dont let me down,
Coz there's nothing to be certain in my life,
And you've seen a thousand times
There's not much justice in the world

If I should lose you girl you know,
That theres not much justice in the world

If there's any justice in the world,
You're gonna be my baby,
You're gonna be my baby,
You're gonna be my baby!

DO you think lyrical substance is important, especially if the delivery is great?

10% substance 90% show, that's pretty much how it works. Sometimes substance can make up for delivery, but delivery is usually the driving force which people tend to respond to the most. It's all in the psychology of how we perceive a performance, a bad delivery can just turn it off completely.

Are children's songs important to a child's musical education or just an easy landing to 'real' music?

Children's songs are generally viewed as both. Songs for children are often very interactive, and build a sense of rhythm and melody. This is how you start being able to launch yourself into more music, however. These songs are simple, but provide very much power in the sense of education of music. Children move to songs like this and sing along, all the better for pitch. The younger children are exposed to music, the more musical precision they will have. It can still be learned later, but these qualities are really internalized when singing a children's song. What better than to be able to have music as part of your life as a small child? However, more complicated music, such as orchestra music, which is more complex, also helps in musical development at a young age.

Should the lyrics in songs be grammatically correct?

Other answerers have said that pop music does not need to conform to the standards of proper grammar, and I share that view. Poetic licence exists for a reason: the effect is the most important thing, and if bending or breaking grammatical rules helps you achieve it, then bend and break away! That said, I suspect that the faulty grammar in many songs is more a matter of habit and affectation than anything genuine or necessary to the song. Songwriters who have never said ain’t in their lives sprinkle the word in their songs. It might be that they’re talking down to their audience (“oh well, people who listen to this kind of music are uneducated”), but more likely they’re following what they take to be the idiom of that style: “this is how pop songs are written,” or “if it’s good enough for Elvis, it’s good enough for me.” Either way, if the songwriter is consistently adopting a tone or style that is not his own, then it is an affectation, and personally I don’t think that’s good. The best songs come from the heart, and should be expressed honestly. It’s true that some pop stars come up from the streets, and a “street” sound is authentic for them. But it’s also possible to write great and popular songs that are in more or less educated English. From my era, songwriters like Don McLean (“American Pie,” “Vincent”) and Joni Mitchell (“Raised on Robbery,” “Coyote”) spring to mind. Songs from musicals can also become blockbusters, and these are usually “grammatically correct”—songs like “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music or “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” from Jesus Christ Superstar or “Easy to Be Hard” from Hair.I accept that lyricists are poets. But historically poets have been people whose command of English is better than that of other speakers; that’s why they’re poets. According Samuel Taylor Coleridge, the definition of poetry is “the best words in their best order.” Usually this will be an order that also conforms with English grammar, which has evolved exactly to make the language precise, powerful, and expressive. We certainly do need Elvis singing “Hound Dog” (in diction that was probably authentic for him), but other kinds of thoughts and feelings can also be expressed in pop music. I think of it this way: music is a big universe, and there’s plenty of room for everyone. It would be great if musicians and songwriters felt free to be themselves and express who they really are.

Ancient Greek Death Songs?

I'm writing a research paper for history on the importance of music in terms of education, communication, and entertainment during Ancient Greece. I really wanted to find an example of a death song to put in but I need it to be short and I was hoping for there to be some repeated phrases or rhymes. I'm trying to stress how many hyms and chants had repeated lines to help the less educated better memorize them since many people didn't have the ability to read or write, anyone have an example? ASAP would be awesome.

Why do song lyrics so frequently ignore proper grammar?

Because poetry and musical expression are sometimes more important than the strict rules of language.Sometimes grammar is ignored to aid in rhyming, flow, rhythm or just to emphasis a point. "We don't need no education. We don't need no thought control” sounds far better AND ironically emphasises the points being made in the song better than “we don't need any education, we don't need any thought control”.Grammar is important but it's not as important as a lot of people believe or imply. Especially when faced with choosing between grammatical correctness and art.

What are songs that are anti-intellectual?

Paris Hilton fo'sho. Examples: "Stars are Blind".

What are the most uplifting songs?

So I am gonna share an uplifting song, but since I am a cynic (sorry!) I will also tell you something which pisses me off about the uplifting song. The song is in Sindhi (my mother tongue) but don’t worry lyrics in English are given in the subtitles. Its called ‘Meena’. This song is highly uplifting. Everything, from its lyrics, imagery, poetry and messaging is sublime and work in unison to create maximum impact. The song combined with the video deals with ghost schools (schools on paper), girls education and school curriculum. The poetry is a message of love and tolerance which gels nicely with its message of the importance of education. Here are a few lines; My friend Meena and I make for the dreams everydayWe wish to make a world as good as heavenA world of yours and mineWhere love is the only religion, where people would hate the hatredAnd by the way this is Meena; Now time for some depressing shit. So what is it that pisses me off about this song? That it is practically ignored. In a country whose one of the pressing issues is education this video couldn’t even garner more than 10,000 views. Maybe it shows that people are indifferent and apathetic or maybe that band who made it is obscure and not popular (though I do remember the critical acclaim it got and band performed on Coke Studio) or maybe it’s both. Who knows? Now if your mood has gotten low, give this video a watch. You will be uplifted (it has a happy ending!). Make sure to watch in HD. I promise, you won’t regret it. :-)

English lyrics for Pensa- Fabrizio Moro?

There were men of which pages have been written
Notes on a life of immeasurable bravery
Irreplaceable because they denounced
The most corrupt systems too often ignored
Men or angels sent to the earth to fight a war
Of feuds and of families scattered as so many balls
On an island of blood that among so many wonders
Between lemons and seashells… massacre sons and daughters
Of a generation forced not to look
To speak in a whisper
To put out the light
To comment with silence
Every bullet in the air
Every body in a ditch
There were men that little by little
Have left a mark with courage and with commitment
With devotion against an organized institution
Our thing…your thing… what is yours?
It’s ours…the freedom to speak
That our eyes were made to watch
The mouth to speak, the ears listen
Not only music not only music
The head turns and adjusts the aim, be clever
At times condemning at times forgiving
Simply
Think before firing
Think before speaking and judging
Try to think
Think that you can decide
Wait a moment
Only a moment more
With your head between your hands
There were men that died young
But they were aware that their ideas
Would last for centuries as important words
Unbroken and real as little miracles
Ideas of equality ideas of education
Against every man that exercises oppression
Against every one against a weaker one
Against he who buries his conscience in the cement
Think before firing
Think before speaking and judging
Try to think
Think that you can decide
Wait a moment
Only a moment more
With your head between your hands
There were men that continued
Although everything around was burning
Because in the end this life has no meaning
If you fear a bomb or a pointed gun
Men passed and a song passes
But no one will ever be able to stop the belief
That justice is not only an illusion
Think before firing
Think before speaking and judging
Try to think
Think that you can decide
Wait a moment
Only a moment more
With your head between your hands
Think
