Are There Individual Dental Insurance Plans That Do Not Use Networks

Finding health and dental insurance?

Right, companies cannot deny those age 18 or under for pre-existing conditions. However, they do require that the child be on a plan with a parent. Therefore, you can get on a plan with your mom if she were to purchase her own policy, but you cannot add your son to that policy.

You cannot get your own policy at age 18 and so there is no policy for your son to be on. He will be without unless baby daddy is at least 19. If so, baby daddy could purchase his own insurance and add baby to that policy. If that is not doable you'll just need to pay cash for baby's checkups which shouldn't be a problem since baby daddy and baby daddy's family is so willing to provide for him.

Dental insurance is a separate policy, and you can get dental insurance at age 18 by yourself. It will have a 6 to 12 month wait before your tooth will be covered though. A plan with a 6 month wait will probably cost you about $50 per month so there is $300 you'll be paying in premium. Then, the plan will only cover 80% after a $100 deductible so you'll still end up paying $500 for your tooth.

EDIT for your additional details ▬ the ER is only for bona fied emergencies. They won't have any help for your dental problems other than giving you a pain killer if you are in pain and telling you to see a dentist. The ER is also the most expensive place to go. An urgent care center cost much less and a doctor even less than the urgent care. If you do need to use the ER, urgent care or a doctor most will allow payment plans.

Individual PPO Dental Insurance with No Waiting Period?

Nobody has an individual PPO Dental Insurance plan without a waiting period. It would be impossible for a company to have -- otherwise you could buy it, have a root canal done, and then cancel it. If any company did that then they wouldn't be in business very long at all...either that or the premiums would run $500/month.

Just buy an insurance plan and in time it won't have waiting periods (they'll be satisfied). Claims made during the waiting period would at least give you the network discounts for the procedures much like the discount plans do. Eventually you'll have full coverage. Ameritas dental insurance is the biggest seller on my site.

Hopefully that'll at least save you some time looking for that which does not exist.

What is best dental insurance?

DENTAL INSURANCE WITH NO WAITING PERIODThese dental plans are very popular nowadays because many people find themselves in an urgent need for dental treatment or major dental procedures when they do not have any dental coverage or existing dental plans. Most dental insurance plans in the market have six to twelve month waiting periods for dental procedures beyond preventative and basic routine care. There are only a handful of dental insurance plans that have no waiting period on major services such as crowns, root canals, oral surgery, and other big ticket procedures. However, these plans are naturally going to have more expensive monthly premiums since they are giving you more access to coverage immediately.DISCOUNT DENTAL PLANSThese plans provide straight-forward discounts on dental treatment and procedures that vary depending on the dentist and dental work to be done. Typically, discount dental plans offer an overall savings of up to fifty percent. But what we've discovered is that in most cases actual savings turn out to be around thirty-to-forty percent. One of the good things about discount dental plans is that they don't have any waiting periods on all services and they do not have any limits annually.PPO DENTAL INSURANCEMost dentists and individuals prefer PPO dental insurance plans or dental plans that use a PPO network. To understand why first we need to learn about what a PPO network is. PPO is short for Preferred Provider Organization. A Preferred Provider Organization negotiates contracts and set prices with providers, in our case dentists. These contracts obligate the dentist to offer the pre-negotiated prices for dental treatment and proceduressource :- Dentalhelps.com
