Are There Moslems That Reject The Verse Of The Sword

Does the verse of the sword make other verses obsolete?

nothing is abrogated in Glorious Quran !!

The Quran orders muslims to protect Churches & Jewish temples?

* V.40 : To allow a righteous people to fight against a ferocious and mischief-loving people was fully justified. But the justification was far greater here, when the little Muslim community was not only fighting for its own existence against the Makkan Quraish, but for the very existence of the Faith in the One True God. They had as much right to be in Makkah and worship in the Ka’ba as the other Quraish; yet they were exiled for their Faith. It affected not the faith of one peculiar people. The principle involved was that of all worship, Jewish or Christian as well as Muslim, and of all foundations built for pious uses.

How can Muslims say their religion is peaceful while verses like this are in their Hadith?

Book 041, Number 6985:

"Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews."

That is absolute hatred.

Can any Christian explain this verse from the Bible?

I desire, then, that in every place the men should pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or argument; also that the women should dress themselves modestly and decently in suitable clothing, not with their hair braided, or with gold, pearls, or expensive clothes, but with good works, as is proper for women who profess reverence for God. Let a woman learn in silence with full submission. I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing, provided they continue in faith and love and holiness, with modesty.

[1 Timothy, chapter 2]

How do Quranists justify the violent verses of the Quran if they also deny the Hadiths that explains their context?

Quranists use the context, the surah’s that explain the ‘violent verses’. For them this is often enough.002:190 Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.002:191 And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith.002:192 But if they cease, Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful002:193 And fight them on until there is no more Tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression. If the Quran is read correctly, it's clear that this is about self defense. Knowing a little bit about history will also help. With these verses, Mohamed is ordered to fight the tribes who did not honor the treaties they made with Muslims. The preceding verses give these people respite for 4 months to reconsider their behavior and cease hostilities. Because they didn't, Mohamed and his army were allowed to fight back and kill the enemy wherever his men find them. It's as simple as that. Plain war fare, no turning the other cheek but an eye for an eye.Unfortunately, radicals like Islamic State warriors usually aren't very interested in history and in trying to understand the nuances in the Quran, because then it won't serve their purpose anymore. Even more than Islamophobes, they cherry pick the words that fit their (political) goals. If they can't even use words out of context, they will just console themselves with weak Hadiths or they make up some rules themselves (who said you could drink alcohol, use drugs and live a hedonistic life according to Islam?). Thanks to them, Muslims have to keep explaining why the Quran is not the same as Mein Kampf and why they are not a bunch of violent beasts like ISIS.By the way, I am not a classic Quranist who doesn't accept Hadiths myself. I do accept the Hadiths that I think are trustworthy, such as the Bukhari collections. However, I want to point out that the Quran can often be enough to understand the meaning of the verses.

Why don't Muslims accept the defects of Islam?

There are so many violent verses in the Quran, Hadith etc. but why are the Muslims still whitewashing the crimes of Islam, Islam was spread by the sword anyone who didn't convert were to be killed like what happened to the Jews of Muhammad's time and the Sikhs in the time of the Sultans in India, they always say that Islam is peace but when someone starts talking about Jews they switch faces and curse on Jews, Israeli or Non-Israeli Jews.

What are some of the most controversial verses in the Qur’an and what do Muslims in general think about these particular passages?

HelloQuran is from Allah and all His Book is true but some verses are controversial because we do not understand them.I think some of those verses are verses talk about violence.I just mention one of them: Verse 9:5“slay those pagans wherever you find them”, but again the slightest familiarity with the historical and contextual context would immediately dispel this misquotation. The verse immediately before speaks of upholding peaceful agreements with those who are at peace and never supported enemy warriors against the Muslims – so who is verse 9:5 in reference to? Qur'anic exegetes al-Baydawi (d.685H) and al-Alusi (d.1270H) explain that it refers to those pagan Arabs who violated their peace treaties by waging war against the Muslims (nakitheen) , and thus Abu Bakr al-Jassas (d.370H) notes that these verses are particular to the Arab polytheists and do not apply to anyone else . These comments are substantiated by what the Qur'an itself says. Verse 13 of the same chapter states, “Will you not fight against those who violated their peace treaties, plotted the expulsion of the messenger, and initiated the fighting against you?” and verse 36 states, “and fight the pagans collectively who wage war against you collectively.” The textual context is abundantly clear that verse 9:5 is not a random instruction out of the blue but relates to the pagan tribes of Arabia, who were in a state of war with the Muslims. Therefore, to interpret the passage in any other way is to contradict the very text of the Qur'an.Moreover, what is fascinating is that the very next verse (9:6) states that if any enemy warrior suddenly demands protection, one is religiously obligated to provide that individual with protection, explain the message of Islam to him, and if he refuses to accept, escort him to a place of security. This instruction to protect and escort enemy combatants to a safe haven makes it blatantly obvious that this passage in no way, shape or form can be construed as violent.………………………………………………………………………………..Top Five Misquotations Of The Quran
