What are some characteristics of Auschwitz and Dachau?

Auschwitz was a concentration and extermination camps built and operated in Poland. Those not killed in the gas chambers died of starvation, forced labour, disease, individual executions, and medical experiments. The camp was liberated on 27th January 1945 by the Russians.

Dachau was the first Nazi concentration camp opened in Germany. On the gates of the concentration camp was the sign Arbeit macht frei, meaning through work one will be free. The camp was liberated on 29th April 1945 by the Americans..

Both camps would have barracks for the prisoners to sleep and both had gas chambers. Life was just as bad for the prisoners in both camps.
