Are this sentences right, SIMPLE COMPOUND COMPLEX?

Just want to make sure these sentences of correct

After each sentence these will come after to indicate what kind of sentence it is
(1) - simple
(2) - compound
(3) - complex

Peter Pan was one of my favorite books I use to read (1). Everybody knows the story of the child who refused to grow up since he was stuck in Neverland (3). I spent my high school days in a daze, and I coddled away from harsh realities and future responsibilities (2). While bolstered by praises like “You’re gifted” or “With your smarts, you’ll go far”, I closed my eyes letting their words sweep me away (3). Imagining flying away to Neverland (1).

Are these sentences simple, compound, complex, or compound-complex?

2. Standing in the doorway, I was protected from the rain. (I think its a complex sentence)

3. Even if I sin, God is able to forgive. (I think it's a complex)

1.) People on the coast tried to flee to higher ground, but flooding and mudslides made escape difficult.

2.) More than 9,000 people were killed, and crops and roads were wiped out.

3.) TV images of homeless and hungry people touched many Americans, who were responded gernerously.

4.) They donated money and supplies, which were flown to the region.

5.) Volunteers helped clear roads so that supplies could get to villages that needed them.

6.) Charity groups distributed food and safe drinking water, and they handed out sleeping bags and mosquito nets, which were needed in the tropical climate.

7.) Medical volunteers treated people who desperately needed care.

8.) Other volunteers rebuilt homes, and they helped restore the farm economy so that people could earn a living again.
