Whats the best internet speed for WiFI on laptop?

All right, here we go. First of all, the wifi and charter cable modem are two separate units. The charter cable modem is supposed to give you an internet connection through something called an ethernet cable. Normally, you would plug this into your laptop, and viola. internet! :)

However, since you want wifi, what you do is plug the ethernet cable into your wifi router (a unit you buy separately) and connect to the modem. It will create a wireless signal, allowing any wireless devices to connect to the internet.

If you already have a good wireless router, you can just hook it up to the comcast cable modem and you're done.

However, if you are looking for a wireless router, you might want to keep on reading:
The speed of your network depends on *both* your cable connection speed, and your wireless router speed, and signal strength. If ANY of these are bad, then your videos that you are trying to stream will freeze or stop loading.

Since you don't think you are very tech savvy, I would suggest getting the airport extreme. It is the highest rated, and simplest router to set up. Router setups can take *hours* to get right, but the airport extreme is a little wonder that works in about 10 minutes, right out of the box.

The airport extreme is an Apple Router. But, it is designed to work with PC AND MAC. So, no matter what you have, you will be fine.

You want the one in the middle (airport extreme)

Now that you have a good router, you want to get a nice and fast internet connection. Anything above 6Mbps (Megabits per second) will be fine. that is all you need to tell charter.

Once you tell them that you want 6 megabits or faster (and yes, this is mega BITS, not Bytes) they will give you a list of plans to choose from and any one of them will give you a fast connection

Is 12 Mbps a good Internet speed for streaming and gaming?

It depends,How many devices are sharing your 12 Mbps Internet connection? What is the average latency (ping time)? What type of video are you streaming?Internet speeds and quality vary greatly by geographic location. In some rural or remote areas a 1.5 Mbps DSL connection would be considered fast, however in a large city such as Phoenix where I live, 100 Mbps + is commonplace and Gigabit (1000 Mbps) is available. For gaming latency to the gaming server and upload speed are critical factors. As long as these are good, high download speed is not required. For streaming, the resolution of the video and bitrate determines the speed required. For example you can stream a standard Netflix movie with around 1.5 Mbps, however a 4K video would require 25 Mbps or higher. Here are Netflix minimum speed recommendations. Internet Connection Speed Recommendations That being said,Remember, your Internet connection is shared among all of the users of your home network. So any bandwidth others are using will be deducted from the total Internet speed that is available to you. Many people would likely be surprised at how many active connections their wireless router has. I have dozens. cell phones, tablets, iPods, game consoles, laptops, desktops, ROKU boxes, Internet enabled devices such as TVs and audio receivers, and the list goes on.In simple terms, the more users and devices you have, the more speed and data limits will be required. If the speed you currently have is not sufficient, the only real way to speed up your Internet connection is to get a faster ISP or speed tier.As I stated, a lot will depend on what Internet providers are available in your specific area and what levels of service they offer in that location. To compare speed and prices of your local competitors, go to a ISP comparison site that lets you input your address, and compare the pricing and terms of the offers that are available in your area. In the US you can use this one , otherwise do a search for "ISP comparison" at your favorite search engine. The physical address is needed because some services, particularly DSL, are very distance sensitive. For example you might be able to get a specific level of service while your next door neighbor can't.You'll want to pick the fastest plan that fits your budget. In some areas this can be 1000 Mbps+. But these high end broadband plans are expensive. You may find that something in the 25 to 100 Mbps range might satisfy your needs at a much lower cost.Good Luck...

Can someone translate my internet speed for me?

11.60 megaBITS per second = 1.45 megaBYTES per second
1.47 megaBITS per second = .18 megaBYTES per second

Your download speed is all right, more than good enough for streaming HD content on Netflix (which requires 4 megaBITS). Your upload speed leaves something to be desired, considering that these tests are usually performed against servers located nearby.

What typing speed in WPM is considered good/fast?

Congratulations - you are incredible if you can go that fast!A lot of people, even professionals in various fields, can only muster 40 or maybe 50.My best is something like 75 wpm, but I probably settle around 65, which most people also consider fast. One challenge to give yourself, if you haven’t already, is to slow way down to 30–40 wpm and start using the pinkies correctly. I don’t know how you type that fast without them, but you could probably go faster with. So start slowly and correctly, and then build up again to see if you beat that 125 wpm.Another challenge would be to tackle alphanumeric - a lot of people who go fast can’t seem to deal with numbers and symbols.A third challenge would be to learn Dvorak, which I use and go 25% faster on than I do on Qwerty, but I know that that is debated and that not everyone has that same experience, so your choice there. The other thing, since you are so fast, if you happen to have a Samsung Watch, we would love it if you would try out Modality (sorry I can’t PM you on this, but Quora doesn’t work that way). We’re trying to make people as productive or more productive on their watches as they are on their phones. Last week I typed 42 wpm on my watch, which is 68% faster than the average phone typing speed. We think 50 wpm is possible on a watch, which would probably take someone like yourself to do. So would love to hear from you if that’s you.Other than that though, good job and keep it up for sure!
