Is it illegal to put a train horn on your car in California?

In California, a train horn can be mounted on a car but not used. On a semi-truck, it is allowed if it is attached to the air brake system, powered by the air from the brake system, complies with FMVSS standards 121 and 106, and has the appropriate certifications. If you are found to have violated those terms, you can receive a minimum $108 fine if there are no other violations or citations on your CDL.Source: Are Train Horns Illegal in My State?

Is it illegal to flip someone off?

There is a lot of information available about this on the Internet. For example:Is It Illegal To Give 'The Finger'? Is it illegal to flip someone the middle finger? The US Supreme Court determined that it is freedom of speech and therefore not against he law to give "the finger" to a police officer. However, certain local jurisdictions have rules about swearing in public which can be a misdemeanor. I think the CBS News item summed it up best (see URL, above): "The First amendment protects your freedom of expression, even rude expression. But there are limits. You can’t use your words to incite violence – gestures either – those are fighting words. In general, the gesture isn’t likely to cause a reasonable person to start fighting, but if you couple it with aggressive movement, it could lead to your arrest... you really shouldn’t be arrested for your one fingered salute, that doesn’t mean it won’t cost you legal fees to win a case you could have avoided just by being civil."This pertains to laws in USA. Countries that do not protect freedom of expression have their own laws and guidelines. Also, flipping the finger may not have the same disparaging meaning in certain cultures, but there may be other gestures that have the same or worse meanings. For example, In Brazil, Germany, Russia, and certain other countries around the world, the finger sign  that Americans use for "OK" is a very offensive gesture because it is used to depict a private bodily orifice. In Japan it means "money," and it is commonly used to signify "zero" in France. The V for victory or peace two-fingered salute was made popular by Winston Churchill in England during WWII. However, if you make this gesture with your palm facing inward in Australia, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and several other countries throughout the world, it in essence means "Up yours."

If I am stuck in a traffic jam and have to use the bathroom, is it legal for me to pull over to the side of the road and "do my business" behind a bush or behind my car door?

Funny story- My husband and I were driving from Ohio to Key West, Florida.  Somewhere right across the border into Tennessee I told him I had to pee.  He drove a few more miles looking for an exit with a gas station but we started talking and he accidentally passed the next exit.I thought, "Ok. We'll just stop at the next one," but within seconds I knew I was in trouble.  Traffic, completely stopped on the highway as far as the eye could see.I tried to tell myself that it wasn't a big deal. I could hold it for maybe an hour tops but surely we'd be out of that mess before then.Nope.  I held it until there was no doubt in my mind that my bladder was about to erupt inside my body.  We'd traveled maybe a quarter of a mile in one hour and I knew I would either have to get out of the car and pee behind some bushes or pee ON MYSELF.  The later wasn't an option.I was only semi-afraid that traffic would take off again while I was out hiding behind a tree or something but it didn't matter anymore."Gotta do this honey. Be back in a few."I'd jumped out of the car and headed to the trees when suddenly I heard over a loud speaker, "GET BACK IN YOUR CAR!"There was a damn police officer driving up the emergency lane making sure no one PEED!I hurriedly jumped back into the truck a little bit freaked out.I sat in that car for nearly another full hour before we got out of that traffic and to a gas station.  I'll have you know that it was the nastiest gas station I've ever witnessed but at that time it was a site for sore eyes.ANYWAY, it is not legal to pee on the side of the road.  Apparently you're forbidden to do it even if you're stopped in traffic for an absurd amount of time.*Note- one of my patients at the psych hospital will probably spend the rest of his life there for peeing in an alley beside a bar so WATCH OUT!
