He had started to turn black even before we started to use this (and have only used it once as it is a monthly thing) is this normal and will it go away and does it mean he is sick? also how much water should he be in and how should i go about changing his water and how often?

Why are there people who have not enough to eat in the U.S.?

Food insecurity is a serious problem in the United States. Despite the great concentrations of wealth at the top of society, many blue collar jobs don’t pay enough to support a family. Unless there are two adults working full time, families need assistance to provide food, clothing and shelter. Although there is a stereotype about minorities receiving welfare, more white households (40%) receive SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) otherwise known as food stamps. 25% of recipients are Black, with other minorities filling in the bottom of the ladder.Dependig on the state they live in, households may receive assistance if they are at as much as 200% of the federal poverty level, which is set at $20,090 for a family of three (as of 2016). This means that a family of three, earning $40,180, is still not earning enough to cloth, feed and house themselves, due to high costs of living.13.1 million children in the US live in food insecure households, and 14.5, or nearly 20% of America’s children live in poverty. The reasons for this are complicated, and have to do with federally mandated minimum wages, income distribution and redistribution through taxes, food programs, TANF (Temporary Aid to Needy Families) and the increasing concentration of wealth at the top of the pyramid over the past quarter century, making it more and more difficult for working class and middle class families to achieve the social mobility that was once part of the American ideal.Up until the 1970s, a rising tide really did lift all boats. The economy was growing at a steady rate, and all income levels benefited from this post-war growth. That changed in the mid 70s, and the distribution of wealth, as opposed to income, become more unequal, until currently, 3% of people control 50% of the wealth. Some surveys suggest an even more uneven distribution, with wealth concentrated in fewer hands.A Guide to Statistics on Historical Trends in Income InequalityWealth Inequality | Inequality.org2016 Federal Poverty Level - Obamacare.net

Why am I still hungry after eating?

Many reasons:You release too much insulin and are possibly diabeticYou ate too fast and the body hasn't produced the hormones to tell you you're satiatedYou have a tapeworm. You didn't eat protein, just high carb and sugar foods. Protein and a bit of fat help satisfy. You have an ulcer and the gnawing feeling is like hunger pangs. You didn't drink enough water and are dehydrated.

Why do i feel sick when i'm hungry?

When you are hungry is because the glucose (sugar) levels in your blood are low. Since that's the energy that your body uses to live and do your activities, when you don't have enough your system can't work properly.

Therefore, your body is letting you know it needs fuel by feeling hungry, and you sweat and feel faint because there's not enough in your body to work with.

As you've probably heard, in order to digest food, your stomach produces different acids. If there's no food to digest, those acids start attacking your own stomach and that's why it hurts.

I would suggest to you not to spend long periods of time without eating, ideally you should make five small meals a day ( the content and size of those meals depends on whether you're under or overweight).

If you're very busy to eat properly, at least try to take with you little things you can eat, like a fruit or a cereal bar. (These will be grat for you because they have carbohidrates so they'll give you the energy your body needs).

Take care of yourself and remember that's better to do so on time before you develop some condition that requires you to take much more care and might stop you from doing things you like. For example if you develop a gastritis it'll be very painful and you won't be able to drink coffee or soda or eat many things like spice or fat.

Good luck and if you continue feeling sick go to your doctor.

Vegetarian: lack of appetite. How can I feel more energized?

I'm 20, I'm in university, and the last 4 days I've just felt sort of unenergized. Not TIRED, just unenergized. I can't afford to feel like this, as I must maintain my A average (aka 4.0 GPA) for grad school next year.

I imagine it's what I've been eating that's been causing this, atleast partially. I just get these days were I don't feel hungry at all, and need to force myself to eat.

Here's what I ate

Friday

Breakfast - quarter sandwhich with tomato, lettuce, cucumber, cheese and mushroom. Half a glass of soymilk.
Lunch - A slice of watermelon, 2 pieces of celery with peanut butter. Half a glass of soymilk.
Supper - 1 cup veggie stew with tofu, a few forkfuls of mixed greens garden salad. Half a glass of orange juice.

Saturday

Breakfast - Half of a piece of bread with tomato and pepper. Glass of soymilk.
Lunch - nothing
Supper - Half a slice of thin-crust veggie pizza ( it had tomato, mushroom, hot peppers, green peppers, onion, corn). Half a glass of soymilk.

Sunday

- Breakfast: Half a cup of oatmeal (also known as porridge )
- Lunch: Half of a banana, half a grapefruit
- Supper - a couple forkfulls of spinach salad toped with nuts & berries & 1/2 cup vegetarian vegetable chili. Glass of soymilk.

And today I still feel the same, and had to force myself to eat what I've already eaten.

I'm a vegetarian. No, these lack of appetite days are not caused by my vegetarianism. They occurred before I went vegetarian. I did take a multivitamin all these days just to ensure I'm getting enough of what I need, or close enough to it. Once again, I know I may be eating less than my body needs, but I just don't feel hungry, and it's hard enough just to eat SOMETHING.

No, I didn't limit myself to x amount (e.g., half a cup) of anything. It was just all I could manage to eat without feeling it was going to "come back for a return trip."

How can I feel more energized?

Usually I go to the gym 5-7 nights per week (depending on how busy I am, as I also have 2 jobs and participate in 4 university societies (aka "clubs" in highschool-speak) and must study and do school work) . So no matter HOW time-managing I am, sometimes I just don't seem to have time to go 7 nights a week.

So how can I feel more energized?
