Are You An Optimist Pesimist Or Realist

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

50/50 depending on the situation, usually pessimistic during the day because I'm tired :S

Are you an optimist, pessimist or realist? (quiz)?

93% realist
You are a realist like me. You use evidence and decide if life is good or bad. You believe that life can change for the good or bad. You are probably someone who never assumes.

I agree :)

Are you a pessimist, optimist, or realist?

I’m a a bit of both.I’m an optimist about social liberalism. I think race relations will continue to improve. I think gays and trans people will continue to find acceptance in the future. I think we will continue to see more and more women in positions of power. But with me, this is always a long-term optimism. In the short-term, I’m a pessimistic realist. I look at things and try not to assume that they will unfold according to the best case scenario. If I’m going to be wrong about my prediction—and I definitely will be—then I would rather have a nice surprise.I’m seeing many liberals be ecstatic about what 2018 means for 2020. I want to share their joy, but I can’t. 2016 was really traumatic. I have no desire to experience that again. And so, I prefer to have low expectations. If we win again, great. If we don’t, then at least I won’t be crashing down from an emotional high.Lastly, I’m a pessimist about income inequality. In 50 years, the rich will be richer, and the poor will be poorer, and the rich will still be politically powerful, and the poor will still not be. I support policies that will mitigate the trend, but I don’t expect it to be reversed.

Are you a pessimist or an optimist?

That is a good quote and I agree to an extent.

The bad thing about being always optimistic is that you are leaving yourself open to constant disappointment when things don't turn out as well as you imagine.

On the reverse of the coin however, even if you get a nice surprise as a pessimist you might be on such a downer about things that you are not in the right frame of mind to enjoy them.

It's better to be somewhere in the middle or see-saw between the two, although not wildly of course.

I'm pretty pessimistic but I'm more than happy to be proven wrong by my thinking the worst, and love it when things go right.

Which is best - being optimistic or pessimistic or realistic?

Which is best - being optimistic or pessimistic or realistic?A mix of optimism and realism seems to be the most ideal way to approach life. You can be optimistic, but if you’re optimism is based in unsound reasoning, you’re going to be let down. In other words, don’t become disillusioned. For example, let’s say you have a test to study for. You’ve paid attention in class, done all the work expected of you, and think you’re ready for the test. You decide that you don’t need to study, because you’re already optimistic that you’re going to pass with flying colors because of how well you did throughout the year. Test time comes and you realize that you can’t remember half the stuff you learned. You don’t do so well. So, even though you were optimistic, you were unrealistic at the same time. Some people equate optimism to wishful thinking. Then there are people who prefer to be optimistic in the face of great odds, not knowing for sure if they’ll be able to meet the challenge ahead of them. There’s nothing wrong with this, as long as you realize that the outcome might not be in your favor. Otherwise, it’s all wishful thinking.

Do you see yourself as an optimist, pessimist, or a realist, and why?

I see myself as an optimist for many reasons.I feel like in my main friend group at school I am constantly trying to motivate others and look on the bright side (they are pessimistic about certain things).I am hopeful about my future and grateful for the things I have.I am always trying to put a positive twist on negative events (I will occasionally be pessimistic though when I’m having a truly awful day)I like the feeling of being optimistic. If you look for the silver lining, you will most likely find one, and that light in the dark may be what makes or breaks mine or someone else’s day.Seriously, Thanks for reading<3 Claytie

If you locked a realist, an optimist, and a pessimist in a room with no gadgets for 12 hours, what would their relationship be in the end?

For me, an optimist is a person who interprets reality in a positive manner in order todevelop a winning mindset that leads to success.A pessimist is a person who interprets reality in a negative manner in order to proactively justify the potential failures that are powered by his or her anxieties.A realist, however, should be left out of this tripartition, because, by definition and above all, by contrast with the other two categories, suggests direct access to reality with no interpretation of it, which is unlikely due to the fact that everything around us is filtered through our perception. Therefore, if you ask me, only the pessimist and the optimist would be locked up in that room, and the most plausible outcome is something that happens in our daily life when we encounter the so-called energy vampires:The optimistic person would eventually end up drained by the consistent failed attempts of lifting the pessimist’s spirit. The realist person, if we insist on pertaining to such concept in the given situation, would probably just observe and state the facts:Look at that locked door!Look at the pessimist guy who’s set on remaining that way no matter what the optimist one says!Look at the optimist guy slowly resigning himself to his mental exhaustion!Look at me annoyingly stating the obvious just to remain loyal to the literal truth!

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

Both. I can see both rather clearly.

But if I had to pick which one I view most, it's probably the optimistic view on life. :D

Are you more of an optimist, pessimist, realist or opportunist?

Definitely a realist and I am one who totally believes in "Expect the worst, but hope for the best", lol...however, most people tend to see it as pessimist.
