Are You Expect 2013 Christam Day Now

What do you plan to do on Christmas Day?

I will spend the first three hours of Christmas Day at work - dealing with the assorted folks who arrive in the Emergency Department. Some of them will be funny - the various drunks dressed as Santa Claus and the elves, young women wearing skirts which cover nothing, young lads - bravado stoked by copious amounts of beer - bloodied from drunken fights. But there will be tragedy too. There are always deaths. Sometimes of those who have spent many Christmases with family. Sadly though, there are often deaths of young people.I well remember having to break the news to a mother that her 18 year old son had died at ten to midnight on Christmas Eve. She dried her tears and told me that she was going home to 'make Christmas special for the little ones' - her three younger children.I will finish my shift at 3am, and drive the 16 miles to bed. A quick cup of tea and hopefully a little sleep. There are no gifts for me under the tree. But I enjoy giving, and I shall. My parents are coming for dinner. Turkey and all of the trimmings, I will cook and lay the table and clear afterwards. Wondering how many more years I will have them for. My dad is nearly 80 and dogged by ill health.I will have to go to bed early. I will be up at 04.30 on the 26th, back to work again for 6am. Christmas over and done for another year.Happy Christmas all, make it a safe one.

What is your biggest wish for Christmas 2013?

A permanent house. My father works for Choice Hotels and is always shifted to hotels that need management. So far, we've lived in 12+ states and we don't have a permanent home.More than anything, I would wish for my dad to find a permanent job or open his own business somewhere, particularly in either Pennsylvania or New Jersey. I was raised in PA and have so many friends and relatives in NJ.Plus, it'd also mean that I'd have a chance to make long term friends and my mom wouldn't have to pack and unpack our things. Almost all of our stuff is in PA in a storage room that my dad pays rent for. All the things I had when I was a child, my mom's precious china, and my dad's TV and stereo system. Everything is in PA since the past 8 years and we haven't been there since. My biggest Christmas wish for my family would be a permanent house in PA or NJ where my parents can stay after they retire. I'd really love that more than anything in the world (that includes my walking).

What are the best Christmas gift ideas for 2013?

Obviously it depends on who the people are but here are some of mine. For my wife, as this Christmas is very important for us, I have brought her one of these wonderful Pendants that I am actually quite excited to give her! It is similar to one her Mother had so I am sure she will be thrilled. They do Earrings too which I looked at but just for the sentimental value of her Mother I opted for the necklace! For my own Mother, I went for a hamper. I searched around for quite a while before I decided to make one myself. This was a bit extra but worth it as now I am confident she won't be able to complain about anything in there!Marks & Spencers do a huge range of them that are very well priced Hampers : Flowers & Plants : Flowers & Gifts : Marks & SpencerMy wife and I are still working on the childrens', but there is, again, some very nice jewellery for my daughter that my wife picked up from a vintage shop and the rest is yet to be confirmed!I hope this gives you some ideas.Jeff

How much will my paycheck be in missouri?

Your question doesn't add up. How many hours will you get paid for in this period? How many of them are considered overtime? You didn't say how much you will get paid for Christmas. Are you working that day or do you expect a bonus?

Once you figure out your gross pay (the amount before taxes), you can use the tax calculator at http://www.paycheckcity.com/cointuitonli...

You will need to know what you listed on your W-4 (Single? Married? How many exemptions?) You may be able to find that on your previous paychecks.

I hope this helps.

Can I get fired for calling off on Christmas if I have a doctors excuse?

I just found out today that I am scheduled to work (3-11pm) on Christmas day at my $8 an hour job. I guess it goes by seniority, and I am the newest (started March 2013), but I make $8 an hour on holidays while the rest make $16 an hour, since I haven't reached a year yet I'm still making $8 on holidays. I wanted to call off, so I told me boss, which is also my cousin, that I'm going to call off that day if I have to work. She replied with "Then you'll be fired". So I came up with the idea of going to the ER on Christmas day and getting an excuse for work. Can she still fire me if I have the DR excuse?

So what were the best and worst parts of Christmas 2013 for you this year?

Worst ThingMy first christmas away from my family. They are on a skiing holiday in Switzerland. 14 family members, 9 firm friends. I'm not. They will have eaten dinner together tonight. Gone to the bar. And had a wonderful time. I wish I could be there. I know how much it means to my mum that her 25 year old son is spending his first Christmas without her. We've spoken, but it's not the same.Best ThingI'm in Atlanta, Georgia with a the family of a girl that I didn't know when I left home for a round-the-world backpacking trip in January. We're now best friends and I'm privileged enough to have been introduced to her wonderful family here. We exchanged gifts this morning. Cooked and ate dinner together. We're currently playing chequers together and waiting for the Dr Who Christmas Special to come on. We've been listening to The Beatles an Pink Floyd all day (to make me feel at home -- it's working!) They are wonderful people and Christmas has brought us all together. I wouldn't change that for anything. The future sister and father-in-law (...if I'm lucky enough)
