Are You Expecting Any Fiasco At Olympics

Is India capable of hosting the 2024 Olympics?

No.India is a pathetic sporting nation. We hardly win any medals at all, and therefore, in my opinion, should never host the Games until we actually start proving to our competitors that we have decent athletes and give proper encouragement to our sportspeople that aren’t lousy cricketers (worthless sport). Here, this should give you an idea of how host nations perform. In the 1988 Seoul Games, South Korea won 33 medals in total with 12 gold, and were placed fourth. In the 1992 Barcelona Games, Spain were the overall sixth place, with 22 medals in total, 13 of them gold.In the 1996 Atlanta Games, the USA topped the medals table with 44 gold medals and 101 medals in total. In the 2000 Sydney Games, Australia won 58 medals, winning fourth place with 16 gold.In the 2004 Athens Games, Greece did reasonably well finishing 15th, with 16 medals of which 6 were gold.In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, China topped the medals table with 51 gold medals and 100 medals in total. In the 2012 London Games, Britain finished third, with 65 medals.Notice a pattern here? Other than Greece, all the other host nations performed really well at the Olympics. Of course, Greece performed better than India ever did — we’ve won 26 medals.IN TOTAL. Since 1900.Brazil, who’re hosting the 2016 Summer games have a decent record at the Olympics. Sure, it isn’t anything as great as the nations before them, but Brazil is leagues above India. So yeah, till we actually start winning medals, we don’t deserve to host the Olympics. And we won’t start winning medals till we drop our fascination with that ridiculous colonial relic that’s called a sport.Edit: And Brazil did do reasonably well at the games, finishing 13th with 19 medals and 7 golds. Here's a fun fact : Michael Phelps has won 28 medals at the Olympics - the same as what India has won since 1900. That's how pathetic we are.

Which democratic presidential candidate has gained the most momentum since announcing their candidacy?

Pete Buttigeig seems to have risen from total obscurity to national prominence very quickly. People seem to find him an attractive and interesting candidate as he gains exposure

Why does everyone assume the 2012 Summer Olympics in London will suck?

It's typical for Olympic Games to run into significant issues.  The host city is bringing hundreds of thousands of spectators, athletes, and media together for a three week logistical exercise of the highest difficulty.  In order to keep budgets low, venues and villages tend to be built with lower quality materials.  There are bound to be disappointments.  Here are some of the complaints and warning signs leading up to the 2012 Olympics.   There have been well publicized cost overruns, budget shortfalls, and general mismanagement in the effort to build the Olympic venues and village. There are significant fears of terrorism hitting the games.  There are fears of more bombings like the July 2005 bus bombing incident.  Covering the number of venues with sufficient security could create massive cost overruns.Traffic in London is a real issue on a day-to-day basis.  During the Olympics, it's likely to be a real challenge.  There are substantial rail improvements planned to increase coverage. The logo was largely panned by the public.  If you can't design a decent logo, what can you get right? The Olympics are scheduled during Ramadan.  Muslims are required to fast sunrise to sunset.  This puts muslim athletes at a serious disadvantage.

What are you waiting for in India?

Short answer: Plenty of people die every day on Indian roads. I'm waiting for the day when road safety is taken seriously in India.India tops the list of nations in total number of road deaths. Reports by National Crime Records Bureau (http://ncrb.nic.in/CD-ADSI-2012/...) reveal that 381 people die on Indian roads every day (that's 16 people every hour). It's a matter of serious concern. We need to improve a lot on road safety to curtail the accidents.I'm waiting for the day, when we wear helmet for safety's sake - not for the sake of traffic police in order to avoid penalty. (I'll carry my helmet and when I spot the traffic police, I wear it. I'm smart!)when we give preference to our 'head' instead of 'hairstyle'. (What? Helmet? Me? I don't like wearing helmet, it ruins my hair!)when we respect the traffic signal; when we don't honk and force the vehicle in-front to jump the signal in the absence of traffic police. (See.. you idiot! there's no traffic police. Why don't you move your a$$ and give me way!) when we learn to cross the roads safely respecting the rules of the road. (definitely not the traditional way of crossing roads which we're known for)when we realize that two wheelers are for two and not for too many.when our seat belt usage is at par with the western countries (say UK for example has an impressive rate of usage). That's a long way to go. As of now, as per the World Health Organisation, our seat belt wearing rate is much worser than countries like Iran, Malaysia and neighboring Sri Lanka. when we help road accident victims to reach hospital in the Golden hour. Research shows that a number of the accident victims can be saved if they receive immediate medical attention. See Don't turn a blind eye to accident victims.when our roads are free from potholes - deadly doorways to the afterlife. (heaven or hell depends on whether you're a Justin Bieber fan or not!)when we don't encounter cattle or stray dogs crossing the road while driving. Few years back, I fractured my collar bone when I fell down from my bike because of a stupid stray dog that came right in front of the wheel. (I'm gonna find you and kill you!)I'm hoping to see these improvements in my generation. I'm waiting!

Where can you buy Fjällräven Kånken backpacks in Copenhagen, Denmark?

I am studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark for a semester and I have seen the Fjällräven Kånken (http://www.fjallraven.com/Products/backpacks--bags/kanken) backpacks everywhere. I think they are super cute and look very comfortable. As my only other backpack is very large and designed to take on weekend trips, one of these smaller bags would be great to carry my belongings to and from class, while I am in Denmark and when I return to my home university.

I was wondering if anyone could point out to me where I can find these bags in Copenhagen? I found one shop that sold them for around 400 DKK. Does anyone know of a store in or around Copenhagen that sells them for cheaper than that? Would they be something I could possibly find used at a second hand store? Would the price be any different if I bought the bag over in Sweden? Malmö is very close and a place I would like to visit, regardless if I can find the bag cheaper over there.

Thank you for any and all help you can give. :)
