Are You Good At Following Instructions Or Do You Usually Make Your Own Rules

Why should we follow rules?

We should follow rules to have a disciplined society. If one does not follow rules and do whatever he/she wishes to do then there will be a chaos all around. For example on roads if we don't follow the traffic rules then no one will be able to reach his/her destination on time and several accidents will take place. Rules are made to facilitate the smooth working of society. Rules are also made to maintain uniformity in some places. For example in schools it is a rule to wear uniform which is same for all students, if there were no system of uniforms then the students would have concentrated more on their attire rather than on their studies, also students who belong to low income groups might have a sense of inferiority when they see their batch mates wearing expensive outfits. Therefore rules are important and must be followed in order to maintain the tranquility of the society.

How do I deal with a husband who can't seem to follow instructions and follow the proper way of doing things?

My husband doesn't know how to knock on the door instead enters the room unannounced, does not close doors after him when they were closed before he came, does not complete projects, etc. I was very upset with him this weekend. I had asked him to move my small overnight bag in the middle compartment of our car. I repeated it twice in case he didn't hear. I settled in my seat in the front of the car and after a few minutes he was opening my door which I was partially leaning against. I was basically relaxing and was taken by surprise by him opening my door. I asked him why he didn't knock and he reasoned he opened it slowly. Now opening it slowly still took me by surprise, it startled me. First of all, I wanted him to move the bag to the middle compartment and not to give it to me. He said he thought I needed something from the bag that he decided to hand it to me. Its insane that I never know what to expect from this guy. Normal is something he doesn't do. My 13 year old gets upset with him because he just opens our son's bedroom door without knocking. I have told my husband that our son needs his privacy too. Am I exaggerating about all this or what?

Game of life rule for selling houses?

Dear board game experts!

The "Game of life" review at
http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/325347/review-of-a-new-core-version-of-life-c-2007
states that since 2007 the "Game of life" no longer contains "speculation on home value mechanism".

Wikipedia contains the following clue:
There is an addition of a new space where a player can sell his house. The sale price of one's house is determined by multiplying (or dividing) the original price of the house by an amount determined by spinning the wheel. If a low number is spun, the player loses profit, a mid-range number breaks even and a high number nets a tremendous profit. If one sells his house in this manner, another house is bought and the process is repeated (without option) at the end of the game. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Game_of_Life#Selling_one.27s_house)

I failed to find any comments in any rule-set available at http://www.hasbro.com/customer-service/toy-game-instructions.cfm

So could someone please formulate the exact rule of selling a house in the "Game of life" edition issued between 2000 and 2005 or share a link to the corresponding rule-set.

Why should you follow work safety rules?

It is important to remember that each and every safety rules exist for a reason. Experience has proven that these rules are necessary and that when they properly followed, they do keep people safe.Equipment can be a source of workplace hazards when they are not properly maintained and serviced. Improper use of tools can also result in the creation of an unnecessary risk. Using tools properly, according to manufacturer’s instructions, and keeping them in good working condition goes a long way to reduce equipment-related hazard.

How did your father instill discipline?

I personally quit spanking my kids about 2.5 yrs ago... it just wasnt doing what I wanted it to do. I still get acceptable behavior from them and they are usually pretty good about following the rules. It doesn't mean they don't need a discipline from time to time, I just don't spank/swat anymore.

Don't misunderstand though... I don't fault any parent that does spank... as long as thats what works.

I'm filling out an application, and there are a couple of tricky questions. I'm not really sure how to answer them. These are the questions:

b> Perform best when I work independently without being given specific direction

2. When at work I
a> Like being given clear direction from my supervisor
b> Like to decide what I need to do on my own

3. When at work I
a> Tell others when they are not following rules and policies
b> Allow others to make their own decisions about whether to follow rules

4. When at work I
a> Do what I think is best, even if it is not what I was told to do
b> Do what I am told to do, even if it does not make sense to me
