Why was jem disappointed with the whole idea of a jury?
Jem is disappointed with the whole idea of a jury because he, at this point, is innocent. Innocents believe that truth and right will prevail, so therefore, a jury isn't necessary. However, through the course of the novel, Jem looses his innocence, which is exemplified by him crying when the whole in the tree is filled up. I haven't read the book in a long time, but this is as good as I remember.
Are you happy or disappointed that two tier test format is not going to happen for now?
I am absolutely happy. Two tier test structure is not beneficial for associated teams. If they play only with associated teams than how can they improve their level. My suggestion is ICC have to organize tours for associated teams with top 8 teams. If Top 8 teams will play with their 2nd stream team against associated teams, it will be good enough for them. They can learn , improve their level and most important they will always be enthusiast to play cricket in new conditions.
Were the Apple executive team disappointed with the latest MacBook Pro or did they truely believe they were releasing a great product for Pro users?
At the time they released it I’m sure they thought it was great. They have a tendency to kill what they think of as bad products, no matter how close to launch they are when they change their mind.In fact after the release they probably don’t think it is bad product because it has been selling pretty well (and some people do like them, I like mine, I wish some things were different, but that goes for almost every product…in this case, maybe a few more things then I normally wish are different on an Apple product though).So the real questions are:are a significant number of people actually disappointeddoes Apple believe that to be trueIt may take a year and a half to find out what Apple thinks…
What did genuinely disappoint you? Please read details before proceeding.
It is a fact that I have never been genuinely disappointed from anything or by anyone including myself. I can’t deny the fact that when I was younger; I used to expect a lot from others and also from myself. Such high expectations were rarely met leading to disappointments and frustration. However, as I grew in my life, I realized that expectations are useless and the greatest source of pain to us. You can’t temper with results by raising your expectations. Let me give you some example.My wife loves cricket and the Indian cricket team. Whenever, there is a cricket match of Indian team with any other team, she always expects our team to win. This always does not happen. Sometime we win and sometime we lose. She gets very upset when we lose and she is delighted when we win. You can see the same emotional response by the Indian media which represents the Indian emotions. When India wins a match, they have all the praise for the wisdom for every member of the team. However, when they lose, they don’t mind questioning all the decision of the same (wise) captain and even start questioning their patriotism and loyalty. If there are continuous defeats, they also start stories of match-fixing against our players. My view is very simple.You win the game because you played a better game than your opponent.You lose the game because your rival team played better game than you.You must focus on improving your game to keep winning. I am neither very delighted for the victory nor upset for the loss. A game is after all a game. Why should we take it so personally? I believe that our team is playing their best in each game if not for their country, then at least for themselves. If the players don’t do well, they will be thrown out of the team very soon. In any case, my anger over their under-performance is not going to make them play a better game. I take the life as it is and take the people as they are. I keep my expectations to the most realistic level. Even though I am always hoping for the best, I am mentally prepared for the worst. Hence after I am relieved after the result since it is never too bad.If I fail, I learn the lesson and move on with life rather than feeling disappointed.
Advantages for rooting for a bad team?
Not expecting your team to win and when they do win it makes you a little happy. But being a little happy when your team wins is not nearly as fun to watch them win if they are a good team. You have to feel sorry for fans of teams like the Cubs because they don't know how much more fun a baseball season is when your team is good. And there is no agony of defeat because you assumed they would probably lose before the game began. You can focus on watching some new young players that might turn into all-stars.
What keeps you a fan of a team that consistently performs poorly?
For many years, I was a fan of the Raiders. After that Super Bowl performance, the next decade and a half of Raider football was believing that 8–8 was a damn good season.I finally dropped my fandom after all of the shady nonsense surrounding the move to Vegas, though.But why suffer through all of those losing years? Honestly at some point it becomes a joke and the joke is just a part of being a fan of that team. You just smile and say, “4–12 is part of our identity, man.” In other words, you really need to have a sense of humor — the darker the better — about being a Browns fan.The added benefit is that, when your team’s ceiling (rather than floor) is a 9–7 record, you are not quite as disappointed about finishing around .500 and just missing the playoffs.
