Bmw vs. audi vs. mercedes?
Simple. BMW. Cos I have one and it drives like a dream but it breaks down too often. Mercedes breaks down even more and their customer service is rubbish. And it is more expensive than the rest because you are paying more for the brand. Driven an Audi A4. Looks good. Rock hard suspension and underpowered. Build quality is good. Less issues. For me. I will still go for the BMW. The engine is smooth, powerful and the user experience is really fantastic. They’ve won best car of the year in Europe ever since their first 3 series came out of their production line.

Basically, with BMW and Audi you get 2 parts performance with 1 part comfort. With Mercedes its the opposite. Its really not a question of which one is better because they're all good in their own ways, it just depends on what you're looking for in a car.

Which is more reliable... BMW, Audi or Mercedes??
A properly maintained german car is just as reliable as any Japanese car AND is more comfortable and fun to drive (comparing within the same market/class of course). I've had them all. One of the best used car bets going. Let the first owner take that terrible depreciation. Best bang for the buck is a 5-6 year old car with excellent maintenance and records to prove it. Yes, the maintenance will cost more than a Japanese car, generally. But not very much more. I got my 95 BMW 525 for $6000 with 80k on the clock. It's dead mint condition and drives like new. Parts are cheaper than for my Land Cruiser and the BMW is FAR easier to work on. Only normal maint items needed. Never a breakdown. I also have an 01 Audi a4. Love it too. The 5 series is a better car though. No comparison. All of them better than any Japanese mid size I have ever owned, including our 04 Acura TL (now sold thankfully).
