I have a Samsung NP 35 notebook running Windows 7. Suddenly I keep getting the error message 'no audio output device is installed'. How do I fix this glitch? I now have no sound.

Thanks for your input, Shane. I've hunted down the drivers, updated them, reinstalled them and they just do not show in device manager any more. My sound settings are now literally blank across the board. Sound was basically vaporised in a flash after I uninstalled Comodo firewall. So I'm stumped..

No audio device was found. What shall I do to install my driver package for Windows 7?

I would recommend installing Driver Booster[1] . Driver Booster is a free software that scans and download the recommended drivers for your hardware from official sources and install it in your system. I have used the software to install in like 10–15 systems till date and it works like a charm always. Also it helps in that you don't need to download seperate drivers and install them with multiple restarts.Footnotes[1] The best free Nvida, AMD, Intel & Dell driver update software for Windows 7 & above.

Many of them are actually plug & play, this means they don't need a installation cd or download drivers, they can be recognized as fast you plug them. When plug & play fails, many things could fail. Maybe your driver has been previously installed, but needs a manual update.
