Australians How Do You Make The Best Trifle

What is the main theme of the play "Trifles" by Susan Glaspell?

I'm no expert but I remember reading this a few semesters ago. From what I remember the ladies pretty much discover that the wife did kill her husband by paying attention to things that women would pay attention to (trifles like jam, stitch work, dish towels, etc...) while the men were off doing their own thing. Even though the ladies are told to just sit and wait while the men do "men's" business they pretty much discover she killed her husband and are reluctant to reveal the clues they found because they side with her.

For instance the bird in a way symbolizes the wife because it is said that before she was married she liked to sing, but since she got married she no longer sings...like birds sing.

Thanks for bringing this story up, I had forgotten all about it!
