Baby Bottles With Oil On The Nipples

Can you heat up a bottle of baby oil in microwave?

it depends upon the container and what kind of material it is composed. Some materials are not microwaveable and will melt or become brittle. A latex nipple may not be safe. Such a container should have a message proclaiming it is microwave safe... if not then dont use it..
The baby oil should not be adversely affected. In a container of this average size 15 seconds should be sufficient.

How do you clean greasy residue off of bottle nipples, or do you have to replace them?

you can use Whits Distilled Vinegar or the Vinegar of your chose

Am I weird: I like to rub baby oil on my nipples. My mom caught me doing it. SHould I stop this behavior?

I mean, whenever i am bored, i like to get my trusty bottle of baby oil out and rub my nipples with them. It is just a great feeling in which I get really excited. Should I be doing this? By the way, I am a dude.

Stop kitty! Help! Wont stop ripping nipple off my sons bottles!?

Here's what I would do. Have one or two bottle nipples reserved just for your kitten in which you're going to keep them out carelessly (keep the other ones for your son, and keep them safe out of the kitten's reach).

There is a taste deterrent you can get from the vet which is known as Topagen. Or, you can go to the pet store and get a product called "Bitter Apple". Or, you can make a mixture of your own by having about a cup of water with 1 or 2 drops of tea tree oil. None of these will hurt your kitten.

The nipples that you reserve for your kitten, cover it with any of the above suggestions. The next time your kitten sees a bottle nipple, its going to think "woo hoo! Milk!" but once he clamps his mouth on it, its going to leave him with a bad taste.

It may take a few times but eventually your kitten is going to learn that bottle nipples are disgusting and the habit should stop.

Hope this helps :)

Btw, just for the sake of facts being accurate, milk does not give cats worms. Most cats cannot digest dairy products very well so they tend to get diarrhea from it.

Day six of nursing, but have cracked nipples, what should I do?

The main cause of cracked or bleeding nipples is that your baby is not latched on at the breast properly.
Make sure that your baby is brought right up to the breast and wait for her to open her mouth in a wide yawn so that she takes in plenty of breast tissue. The nipple is then drawn right to the back of her mouth and your baby is able to access the milk from the ducts with the muscular action of her tongue.

moist wound healing, relieves pain and letsthe woundsheal much faster without a scab. It does not need to be washed off before feeds.

Don't use soap, alcohol, lotions, or perfumes on the nipples
Take painkillers. If the pain is severe, you can take a painkiller about half an hour before a feed, ask your doctor or chemist for one you can use while feeding.
you can give your niples a rest and pump, but some pumps are harder on the nipple than feeding.
a niupple shield can help give the pain a rest.
i ahv ealos heard lavener oil and st johns wart oil help.
Air drying your nipples after rubbing expressed milk on them is good for healing cracked nips too, if you have the luxury of letting them hang out for a little while to dry..
sometimes the redness is thrush,it usually thrush looks red raw ans shiny and it won't go away without treatment.
i would try the lanolin cream, nipple sheild and reasess your latching on teqhnique.
good luck, if you can hang in there, by 8 weeks you will feel as if you have always been feedinmg,it should all have fallen into place by then.

Is breast milk oily? It seems to leave an oil base in the bottle?

Breast milk has a lot of fat in it. So yes, it's leaves kind of a greasy residue in bottles. If you soak the bottles in hot soapy water and then use a bottle brush, you should be able to get the residue out.

My baby can't suck on my nipple. How can I breastfeed?

We need to know, first of all, why your baby can't nurse directly on the nipple.  There are a lot of reasons mothers tend to think their babies/they can't breastfeed.  (*You will need a breast pump and clean bottles or baggies to store the expressed milk*)If it's that you think the baby can't latch or that you're not doing it right- or if it hurts, seek assistance from someone who has breastfed and is knowledgable about it (I don't know what country you're in- if it's the USA, La Leche League is a great place to start and they can give you ways to contact professional lactation  consultants or sometimes invite you to be at a breastfeeding class where they will use you as the demonstration for the soon-to-be parents to learn from (make sure you're okay with people watching your breast closely and take care that it doesn't distract you from retaining what you are being taught).  Private consultants will preferably come to your home.If the baby has a medical condition like a cleft palate or lip, there are special bottles you can find online (Medela - USA has this  type and one for the finger that I write about next), but make sure your baby is receiving medical attention.  Next up is a "weak suck" - there are special bottles for that too, as well as finger nursers (a tiny straw attached to your finger on the knuckle side).  You left the baby drink from your fingertip by turning your finger upsidedown in his/her mouth and letting them suck on that.  A spoon and cup of expressed milk work too, of course.  Just be aware that all babies instinctively need to suck.  See if your baby likes to suck on your (very clean) finger: fingernail short and touching the tongue, insert it to the first digit of your middle finger.

Can your nipples fall off from breastfeeding.?

So thats where my nipple went!
lol no way that lady was totally messing with you.
I'm not sure why you can't put it on baby now. My mom they used to put it the bath water and even ladies use it for soft skin.
Lotion, hmm, I never used a whole lot lotion on my kids skin, they were so soft with out it. When I did use it, I used aveeno baby and that was fine and safe. Most of the bottles say age guidelines, I think.

Good luck!

What is the best way to wean a baby from the breast at night when he refuses a bottle?

As a mom of 3, all breast fed and eventually weaned, this is how I did it: little by little, you introduce other food sources, including formula, and the breast milk production slows down and eventually dries up. As nothing comes out, baby looses interest and self weans. But in your case, baby also needs to sleep in his own bed. Being next to mom is too much temptation. I never slept with mine. They were in their own bed from day one. And if he cries, if all is well (clean nappy, not too hot or too cold, not sick, etc.) then talk to him, tell him "Go back to sleep, it's night time, every one is sleeping, suck your thumb, see you in the morning". You can try stroking his hair or his tummy to soothe him a little. But he has to learn to self soothe. And eventually you leave him alone and let him cry it out. It can take up to 2 hours of straight crying. It will take several nights, with the crying time getting shorter each time. But do not respond to his cries as you will teach him that by crying at night he gets attention. Give plenty of attention in the day, not at night. It will be hard. Be prepared for some serious sleep deprivation. But it is worth it.And remember, it will pass.
