Back To Black How To Wear The Dark Horse Trend For Summer

Isn't a black suit the best suit to have if you can only have one? You can wear it to weddings, funerals, interviews, and every day at work but not grey/charcoal/navy. I’ve also heard people say ‘never wear black except to a funeral’?

It is actually quite the opposite. Black is the worst color for a suit.First, black suits are historically incorrect. Black is much more formal that any other colour and therefore is traditionally reserved for evening wear and morning wear. So wearing a regular suit in black would be wrong.Second, black suits work bad for most complexions. You can pull off a black suit with a crisp white shirt if you have enough contrast between your hair and skin color, otherwise you will look washed out.Third, black is a very plain color. It is appropriate on funerals, because the purpose of the funeral dress code is not to attract any attention to you, but in everyday life it will look boring and lazy. You might find some people — like the famous fashion designer Tom Ford — wearing black suits and looking great, but that’s more an exception. The general rule is that unless you want to make a bold fashion statement, wear a charcoal grey or a navy blue suit and you will look great.

Classic and Timeless vs Trendy and Modern for your wedding?

Have you ever seen some of those hideous 80's wedding photos? YUCK! I don't want to look back and regret my style choices on my big day! I'd go with Timeless. If I wanted to add a touch of modern or trendy, I'd do it with very small touches.

The wedding dress? Timeless all the way.
Tuxedos, something fairly standard
Bridesmaids, again, timeless. I like clean and simple.
Cake - This is one of those things where I think it's okay to go Trendy and Modern because it's going to get eaten anyway, and (hopefully, lol) no one will be wearing it.

If I went classic and timeless and wanted a modern edge to it, I'd probably do something small like jewelery or decor of the reception venue. The trick would be to make it work well with the other classic elements using one thing to tie them all together.

Why do U.S Army Special Forces wear scarves?

While they appear to be scarves, they're actually called shemaghs. These shemaghs are traditional middle-eastern headgear that can be worn around the neck or over the entire face besides the eyes. Made of light fabric, they are great for soaking up sweat, keeping the sun off your neck, and protecting your face during sandstorms.

Your opinion on horseshoes?

Is the "nutty girl"s "poor pony" sound on those rocks and gravel? That is the deciding factor, not whether you think she's mean or crazy for choosing barefoot.

They're hoof boots, not "booties".

Horseshoes do a lot of damage to horse's feet and legs. Here's just one link:

There are hundreds more if you want to educate yourself about the many functions of the equine hoof, and how shoes block and negate those functions and create weaker feet and horses.

Gallop, Gale Hawk, and Barefoottrimmer have a lot of good info too.

I rode my barefoot mare daily for a whole summer in the Rocky Mountains. She was never sore a day. I also deshod the team of Belgians and maintained their bare hooves. They pulled the wagon 4-6 times per week, about a half-hour per trip, on gravel and paved roads.

Mounted police units and carriage companies are going barefoot, with healthier and sounder horses for it. Competitors in every discipline, including endurance riders, are throwing away their horseshoes. Every endurance ride has numerous vet checks before, during, and after every ride to ensure the horses are not being overused or abused, and that they are healthy and sound. Barefoot horses are starting to appear in disproportionate numbers, in the 'best conditioned' category and winner's circle.

Open your eyes and read, and open your mind to understand. Shoes are damaging and unhealthy. Any horse can go barefoot, it's up to the owners to provide a healthy lifestyle that will allow them to succeed barefoot.

Did people wear suits often in 19th century?

The style of dress worn by men became increasingly somber and less flamboyant throughout the century. At the beginning of the century, stylishly dressed men known as dandies, such as George "Beau" Brummell, influenced male fashions by replacing fancy outfits of ornate waistcoats and ruffles with plain dark jackets, high-collared shirts and simple cravats, vests, and eventually trousers. Although some men wore corsets and loud clothing during the century, by the end of the period proper male clothing came to be associated more with clean, polished clothing rather than with fancy ornament. The color black, introduced during this century as proper for male dress attire, has endured to the present day in the form of tuxedos and dark suits.Women's fashions shifted dramatically throughout the century. Starting with styles that revealed more of thefemale figurethan ever before in Europe and America, women shifted to wearing large dresses with huge sleeves and skirts and heavy ornamentation by midcentury. As the century continued, women's fashions changed again to incorporate slimmer silhouettes, or profiles, with the fullness of the skirt limited to the rear bustle. Despite the huge variations in skirt and sleeve size, women's waists were pinched tighter and tighter in a variety of constrictive corsets throughout the century. The importance of a slim waist throughout the nineteenth century influenced some mothers to confine their young daughters inbindingcorsets as well. While the styles for men at the end of the century laid the foundation that would influence men's clothing for the centuries to come, the styles for women did not. Women's fashion began to be influenced by fashion designers, the first beingCharles Frederick Worth(1825–1895). And in the coming century, women would experience much more liberty and a variety of new styles would emerge to reflect this. One style introduced during the nineteenth century would have a lasting impact on the fashion of both men and women across the globe: Starting as a sturdy work pant, blue jeans would become one of the most influential American fashion trends.Read more:http://www.fashionencyclopedia.c...

Clipping And Grooming Horses For Shows?

I feed a rice-bran + flax-seed supplement to bring out my horses coat shine and color with the daily grooming. Beauty comes from inside: there are other supplements well worth their price ,for shiny coats, all have rice bran, soy extract and flax-seed in their ingredients. For even more iridescent color, try *Cheval Red D-Vinity for the best red you ever dreamed of.
Immaculate grooming bathing and prep do count a great deal, a well turned out horse always draws the judges eye,and that is the point! I even lightly oil muzzles and rasp shoe edges for sparkle, brush their teeth with kid toothpaste, and mist a non oily fly spray just before entering. I never use a product like show sheen:its fake and judges at this level hate it.
Luck Miranda!

What jeans do cowboys wear? Does this benefit them in any way?

The traditional cowboy jean is the Wrangler Cowboy cut jean. There are a number of variations on it (like the “George Strait” version) but this is the gold standard. The main reason for this, as far as I know is: tradition, cost (they are comparatively cheap), and ruggedness. That said, Levis are favored by some, as well as more modern, expensive brands like Cinch (especially by the younger set). Some women cowboys wear Wranglers or Levis, but many favor more modern, “fashionable” brands like Cruel Girl, or the Wranglers designed specifically for women. In short, Wranglers / Levis are essentially the classics, but there are a lot of more fashionable newer brands that are favored by some folks, especially younger people. Two notes of interest. First, Levis have the thick, double sewn seam on the inside of the leg, while Wranglers have the double sewn seam on the outside of the leg. Some folks (including me) find that the Levi design can cause abrasions on the inside of the knee. Also, one thing to look for in a cowboy jean is length—significantly more than you would want in a normal jean. The reason for this is you want extra fabric “stacked” on your boot tops so that when you’re in the saddle, you pant legs don’t jack up like floods. You always want your boot tops well covered when sitting in the saddle, otherwise you will look like a gunsel. Example: I am 5′6′’ tall, but I wear jeans with a 36′’ inseam when riding. Hope this helps.
