Sharp pain under my right rib cage?
Hi John! I wanted to add that you also have your colon running up your right side, under your rib cage on both right and left sides, and then down the left side and out of your body. But don't rule out the gallbladder. The gallbladder holds bile and it helps to break down the fats in your body. So if you had had a very fatty meal, you may have just had a surge in your gallbladder. Gall stones can also cause pain and they don't necessarily have to be in your gallbladder. The stones can also drift into your biliary tree, which is where the bile travels through to your small intestines. I truly hope you feel better and don't have the pain again! Sometimes pain is a signal to get checked. Keep an eye on it!! :-)
What is this pain below my right rib cage?
Sounds like it could be ur gall bladder, a pulled muscle, or a kidney stone. If this continues, go to the Dr. This could get worse, and need to get to the core of the problem. Pain under right rib cage!?
I have a really sharp pain under my right rib cage (approximately the 6th/7th rib) . It especially hurts when I’m not setting up straight. Sometimes it’s a dull pain that I barley notice, and other times it’s a sharp burning pain that hurts not matter how I sit stand or lay. When I suck in all my breath, or push on the spot it doesn’t hurt quite as much. Sometimes it’s almost like a “bloaty” sharp, burning, pain. Right now it feels gas, and hot, with lots of pressure. I originally thought the pain was my actual rib cage, but I was put on anti inflammatory, and muscle relaxers for about 6 months and it made no different. I also had an MRI of my rib, and some x-rays and it showed nothing. The pain has been gong on since August of last year. Sometimes it stop’s hurting for a week or so, but then suddenly comes back again. Sometimes I get really bad sharp pains with what can be described as hot flashes? My back right shoulder blade also hurts terrible. I went to the orthopedic , was put on several different kinds of patches, anti inflammatory , and the pain still hurts constantly more then ever for one year now! I been to the doctor so many times I don’t understand why they can’t figure out what wrong. My doctor says the pain will just go away? But when? Besides these problems I’am healthy. Average weight 23 year old female.

What does pain under right rib cage mean?
Last year I went to my dr for a pain very similar to yours. It was on my left side, and it felt like it was under my ribs. Actually, it ended up being the intercostal muscle of the ribs. Everyone has these muscles in between each rib. It can begin to spasm causing the pain due to excessive exercising, coughing, laughing, or anything that uses these muscles. He put me on a muscle relaxer to relax the muscle and taught me a breathing exercise which made the pain go away instantly. Take a deep breath, hold it in, and while you're holding it in, push your stomach out and count to ten while doing this. Repeat two more times. It helped stretch the muscle out and the pain went away! I would check with your dr to make sure it is nothing serious though.
How can I avoid pain under my right rib when running?
Sounds like a side ache! I used to get some pretty gnarly ones myself. Preventative measures include proper hydration, clean diet, and more running. As your body adapts to the stresses of running you will get fewer side aches over time.

Why do I have severe pain right under my rib cage after a long car ride?
I had severe pain in my right side right up under my rib cage and I had gallstones. I ended up having to have it removed. But hopefully that isnt it. Maybe its just the way you sat in the car, kinda like when you sleep weird at night for a long time and wake up with a kink in your neck.
