Why do I feel sharp pain in my stomach when I breathe?

If it’s connected with your breathing then it’s not likely your stomach that’s hurting. It could be your diaphragm, right above your stomach; or perhaps some adhesions between your stomach and your diaphragm. Maybe something to do with your intercostal (between the ribs) muscles? Or any one of possibly hundreds of other things. What type of pain is it? A dull ache or a sharp pulling? Exactly where is it? Deep inside or near the surface of your skin? Is it every breath or just deep breaths? When did it start? What were you doing at the time? How long has it been going on?It could be nothing important at all. It could be something really serious. You don’t give enough detail. Many people say ‘stomach’ when they just mean in the vague region somewhere below their rib cage, but not really the stomach.Even doctors can’t diagnose something like this over the internet with such a vague description. Your best bet would be to go in and have a doctor examine you.

How do I prevent stomach pain during coughing?

Cough and stomach pain occur because of entirely different reasons. However, sometimes, excessive or severe coughing can cause a stomach ache. In order to cough out the stubborn phlegm deposits from the lungs, people tend to exert much pressure on the stomach, which leads to abdominal muscles getting strained. This is probably the only reason why one would experience stomach pain from coughing. It is in a sense similar to when your stomach hurts from too much laughing. For the treatment of stomach pain from coughing, it is the root cause that should be taken care of and treated which is mainly coughing. You can try some of the following remedies for relief.Mix half a teaspoon of ginger juice with one teaspoon of honey. Administer this concoction three to four times a day. This greatly helps in loosening the cough deposits, making it easier to cough out the phlegm. You can also give ginger tea to your mother two to three times a day. This not only helps in curing the cough but also greatly helps in providing relief from stomach pain caused by strained abdominal muscles.Massage the abdominal area by applying some essential oils for pain relief. You can consult an aroma therapist for the same.

What causes sharp pain in the middle of your stomach?

Not much to go on here! Are you male or female? Age? Smoker? What brings the pain on? What helps take the pain away. Any family history of a similar pain? Does eating cause the pain, or take it way? What medication do you use regularly? What medication do you take as needed. Are you stressed a lot? Point with one finger to exactly where the pain is… oh you can't do that here. Well I hope you see just how much I have to guess here!So most stomach/chest pain is a bit to the left and just above the lowest rib. Here is where the Esophagus, tube from the mouth to your stomach comes into your stomach they meet at a muscle called the cardiac sphincter. Here on an partially empty stomach the stomach acid can splash up and burn this area. Especially if you lay down. This is known as GERD Gastric Esophageal Reflux disease. You need an anti acid. Baking soda works in an occasional situation. Other over the counter medication is available such as fomodadine, ranitidine, of omeprozole. There are others too. The ranitidine may be the cheapest and good for long term treatment. Follow directions. It could be many other things too. Yet usually this is what it is…

Stomach hurts really bad when I pee!?

So yesterday morning, I went to pee and my stomach had this sharp pain in my lower stomach area, below my belly button. It went away after I got up and then I went to school.... I have been fine almost the whole day ( except my stomach felt a little sore) and since I'm trying to hydrate myself more, I have been drinking a lot of water throughout the day at school. So I had to pee really bad, so I went before lunch. When I started peeing, my stomach got that sharp pain again, it hurt soooo bad I couldn't get up and stand completely straight for at least 1 minute.. Then after I got up, I txted my mom about it and she said I could have a bladder infection so she picked me up early and we went to my doctor. In the car she made me drink a lot of water, so when we got there i had to pee really bad so i went to the bathroom... It hurt SO bad! I was half crying! So then i saw the doctor and She said I have the "symptoms" of the UTI (bladder infection) and all I really had was a stomach ache during my peeing, that's it. No burning or anything. But I have noticed that I rarely used the bathroom that day. So the doctor told me to go to the lab to pee in a cup to have them examine it. She also perscribed me some antibiotics...so i went to the lab and then to punlix for the pills...So when I got home, I rested, took the antibiotic, but my stomach still ached a little, and when I went to pee again, it didn't hurt as bad, but a little... Then before bed I went to pee and my stomach did not hurt when I peed. so I went to bed and this morning, my stomach does not HURT like crazy now, but it aches a bit, it feels sore.. I know this is long but I'm worried it might be something serious! Please help :) thanks.

A pain in my belly button area?

Have you ever had a laparoscopic procedure? Many abdominal and pelvic laparoscopic procedures are done by placing a trocar through your umbilicus. If you have had a laparoscopy, perhaps you have a small umbilical hernia.

If you have never had a laparoscopy, then perhaps you have a skin infection known as intertrigo (esp. if your belly button is an "inny."). Be sure to cleanse the area thoroughly with an antibacterial soap and water and keep the area as dry as possible. If the pain remains, see your doctor.

As far as being an appendicitis, I highly doubt that.

Pain during sex (dyspareunia) can be caused by many things, not just endometriosis. It would be a good idea to discuss your pain and in what positions with your health care provider.

Good luck to you.

Can I get abdominal pain from bad posture?

I keep getting a nagging discomfort in the right side of my abdomen; it isn't sharp, but more of a burning discomfort in my upper right abdomen, below my ribs. Sometimes it spreads to the left a little, or behind my navel. Could this be from bad posture, i.e. leaning to my side and sitting that way for too long, or my weird posture while sleeping?

Thanks for your help.
