Can canker sores cause tooth pain? If so, why?

If you’ve ever had a canker sore, you know that these small mouth sores can cause major pain.A canker sore can show up on the inside of your lip or cheek, under your tongue or at the base of your gums. Usually, canker sores form one at a time, but sometimes they show up in a little cluster.Source: Do You Know You Can Reverse Your Teeth Cavities Naturally?Canker sores usually go away on their own and they’re not contagious. So no one can catch a canker sore by kissing you or sharing your drink.Canker sores are round and usually about the size of a kernel of corn (14 inch, or 6 millimeters), but they can be bigger. If you look in the mirror at your canker sore, it will be white or yellow with a red border. The inside of your mouth is delicate, so mouth injuries, such as biting the inside of your lip or brushing your teeth too hard, also seem to bring on canker sores.Cold sores (fever blisters) are a different kind of mouth sore and are caused by a virus. Cold sores and fever blisters often form outside the mouth, around the lips, on the cheeks or chin, or inside the nostrils of the nose. Unlike canker sores, those sores are contagious. There’s no sure way to prevent canker sores, but it’s a good idea to eat healthy, get enough sleep, and try not to get too worried or upset. Put canker sores on the list of things you don’t have to worry about. They hurt for a little while, but before you know it, they’ll be gone.

Severe Tooth and Jaw Pain!!!!!?

its infected you need it checked

Tooth infection and jaw pain?

I woke up with very, very bad pain in my tooth today (i need a root canal) and I'm pretty sure it's infected. My tooth hurts quite a bit, but my jaw also hurts. Is the tooth pain just making my jaw sore or is it possible that the infection has spread to my jaw? Going to the dentist soon but just wondering.. And I've been using clove oil which helps my tooth pain and when the tooth pain is gone so is the jaw pain for the most part. Does that mean it's just from my tooth? I'm really worried that the infection has spread. If it has how will they treat it? The dentist said they'll most likely pull the tooth at this point. Do you think they will pull it at my appointment tomorrow or is that bad to do with the infection there? Help!

Sore Jaw,Tongue and Throat after 1 wisdom tooth removed?

I just had my right bottom wisdom tooth extracted on Monday, (now Wednesday) and I'm having pain under my tongue near the gum, sore throat and cant open my mouth fully because my jaw is sore....is this normal?

I knew my jaw would be sore for a few days, but the tongue and throat are really annoying. Any one have any ideas what to do to lessen the pain, taken paracetomol and stronger pain killers but doesnt seem to be helping, also get a throbbing pain in the hole where the tooth was, feels like someone had a chisel and hammer, hammering away! OUCHHH!!!

Can teeth clenching cause my sore gums?

Yes,absolutely .Teeth clenching and night grinding (bruxism) can cause sore gums and teeth. The forces on the teeth and the periodontal ligament which surrounds the tooth and anchors it to the bone is exquisitely sensitive as it contains numerous pressure receptors. In the presence of inflammation ,it can seriously aggravate an existing infection and lead to bone loss and deterioration of the supporting structures of the teeth.A dentist with some sophistication in occlusion should be consulted.Store bought appliances are not properly balanced to the forces of your bite and can cause harm to the mouth and the temporomandibular joint.

Canker sore/jaw soreness !?

My whole jaw is tender when I get them.

I get rid of them by washing my mouth with salt water. I dissolve 1 table spoon of sea salt or mineral salt into half a mouthful of water, 1-2 oz, and swish it around in my mouth for 60 - 90 seconds. I use sea salt because it tastes better than pure salt. I do this twice a day for 2 days. Also, put your tooth brush in there once as well. It cleans out the bacteria that gets in the way of healing.

What’s the difference between jaw pain and toothache pain?

What’s the difference between jaw pain and toothache pain.In my opoinion, you can easily differentiate jaw and toothache pain. For jaw painThis is the case of Temporo Mandibular Joint Disorder pain usually originates from TMJ.While for tootache, usually it originates from the tooth nerve, that is being infected due to tooth caries or infections sometimes with swelling.Visit your dentist for more further information.

Why does my jaw hurts after a tooth extraction?

Many reasons. The trauma of removing a tooth tears the gums and expands the bone in the jaw.If you mean by jaw your jaw joint. Then possibly th pressure put on that joint during the extraction inflamed the joint causing pain. You could have an infection which require antibioticsYou could have a dry socket which mean the bone in the socket where the tooth was has not healed because of lack of blood flow most common in smokers. You could have food stuck in the socketYou could just be wimpy-just kidding hope you feel better soon. Crown prep and sore jaw; is this normal?

it is completely normal, after having a tooth prepared for a crown, to have stiffness and aching in your jaw. you held your mouth open for at least an hour, and the protective layer of enamel was removed from your tooth. it is normal to have sensitivity from cold or air. the temporary crown is just that--a temporary. it does not insulate the tooth the way normal healthy enamel does.
it is always a possibility that you will need to have a root canal either before the perm. crown is cemented OR after it is cemented. teeth are funny little guys!! they have a type of "memory" to them. they "remember" trauma (or having the tooth drilled on) or irritation and for some reason the nerve decides to act up and die.
fyi, there is nothing to a root canal. i assist with them everyday where i work. they just make a little hole in the top of the tooth, take a very thin file and place it thru the hole and pull out the nerve. they then shape and clean the canals and fill them with a material called gutta percha. then the hole is filled in with either a silver filling or tooth colored (composite). if you already have the crown on the tooth when you have the root canal, it's the same filling. they just go thru the top of the crown and then fill it back in with silver or composite. don't worry...

i hope this helps :)
