Ballet As An Elective

So why isn't PE an elective?

I think because obesity is a major problem, and it's important to promote good health and exercise.

Should P.E. be an elective?

I thought so as a kid, I thought it was horrible that I was graded based on impossible standards of physical fitness.

Looking back, even though I hated every moment of it, Physical Education was probably the most important subject in school. I do think it was taught horribly, and wasn't given enough time of the day. In a country where the obesity rate is over 50%, physical education is one of the most important subjects that can be taught. I think at its core though should be to teach kids how to incorporate healthy diets and exercise into their daily lifestyle. A lesson I mourn not learning.

What do you do in a middle school dance elective?

It really depends on the school and what they offer. For instance, my nieces' school offers a variety of techniques (ballet, modern, jazz) with just a taste of each. My school offered ballet and then a separate class for "popular" dance styles like line dancing.

Dance class as a middle school elective?

well during class, you might just use regular shoes, but for performances and such, you should have jazz shoes. you should get ballet shoes for sure; even if you're not going to use them, their good for practicing ballet at home. if the class is not seriously based on ballet, you're probably not going to need a leotard, but usually, jazz requires shorts and a top you can dance in. I would have all my dance things in a bag for convinience. also, always make sure to have some spare hair ties. you're supposed to tie your hair up when you dance!!

hope this helpss(:

What color of tights can a boy wear for beginning ballet?

I did not dance until I took a course as an arts elective in college. I wore the classic beginner mens ballet outfit. I wore a short sleeve white leotard with black tights and black ballet slippers.
There were only 2 other men in the class and they also wore black tights but one of them usually wore a white T shirt and the other a matching black leotard in long or short sleeve. I latter found Danskin made a mens tights in a Grey or a blue/Grey color and I liked how they looked. To be the most comfortable and blend in with the other dancers I would recommend black. If you feel uncomfortable wearing dancers tights you might ask your teacher if it would be OK to wear runners Lycra style tights. These are heavy er material but also stretch well and your instructor can still see your leg line. Most teachers would be glad to have any male student in their class so other than a professional school with a strict dress code almost anything goes. Happy dancing, Jamie.

Is electrical engineering the hardest engineering branch?

YES, ABSOLUTELY. 100%The only people qualified to answer this question are people who actually STUDIED Electrical Engineering in college for crying out loud. Look at the answers and a large number of them are answered by people with no electrical engineering experience whatsoever.Well, I did. My friends did.Why is it the hardest?Theoretical vs. PhysicalCircuits have to be visualized mentally. With Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, you can draw a wonderful picture, build a scale model and look at similar work already done. It’s way easier.Math.Civil Engineering is mostly Newtonian physics — no calculus.Mechanical Engineering is a mix of both, so it’s harder.Electrical Engineering is all calculus — really hard stuff.Mental.To put it simply, you have to have the mind for it. You can be extremely smart and yet just not have the brain for EE work. EEs simply just think differently. To solve problems you have to be very methodical, careful, creative .. with circuits and electrical flow .. stuff you don’t really see in action. On a scale of 1 to 10, this is how I rate the difficulty:CE - 3ME - 5EE - 10Computer Science - 4Computer Engineering - 9 (FYI, digital circuits are much easier than analog)I was originally a EE major at UC Irvine and had a bunch of engineering friends. So when I speak, I speak from first-hand experience.Don’t believe the BS (bull shit) about “develop the passion”, “make it happen” and other positive mental bullshit advice. You either have it or you don’t.For example.I can dream about being a ballet dancer. I can watch all the YouTube videos, “visualize” and start attending ballet school. But if I’m 4 feet tall and 200 pounds, it just ain’t gonna happen, period. I just don’t have the body for it.It’s the same thing, but .. IN YOUR BRAIN.You either THINK like an ENGINEER, or you DON’T.You either THINK like an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER or you DON’T.It’s in your DNA.Got it?

Does the Juilliard art college have a ballroom dance program?

Juilliard is a contemporary focus dance program for the full time program. They have ballet and modern for the dance majors with tap as an elective only. The summer program is ballet focus and they have a single ballroom class as part of the curriculum .

You audition with a ballet and modern class. This is not a place for intense study for ballroom, jazz or tap.

To the above answer. Partnering is pas de deux class (ballet)
