Basketball Question What To Do About Our Coach

Should I talk to my son's basketball coach?

My son is a sophomore on the varsity team and a very good basketball player. He plays AAU ball during the off season and gets a good amount of time playing during the off season.
During a summer high school league his coach was telling him that he intended to play him a lot this year and now he is getting virtually no time in the varsity game.
He plays almost all of JV and yesterday had a great game. His JV coach even said so as did all the parents in the stands.
Then during yesterday's varsity game EVERYONE except my son played. Even the people who NEVER see playing time were subbed in for the last minute.
My son is upset and yet I don't think he feels he has a good enough relationship with the coach to talk to him about it. It is really ruining his season and even his reasons for going to school
So, do I talk to the coach myself? I hate to step in because I really think that my son needs to deal with it, but maybe it is time.

Idk what to tell my basketball coach?

You should tell him that you are sick thats what I do when I miss practice because he cant ever tell you that you were not sick.

How can I contact US basketball coaches?

You can't contact them directly.Instead what I did once was.I went to Instagram and texted the NBA Team Orlando Magic shooting coach Dave Love.I asked him few questions about my fitness and few more questions about my shooting.I thought he wouldn't reply to my messageBut he did reply to me the night before I went to sleep. He is truly amazing and an good coachThis is how you can contact coachesYou can't contact directly. One thing you can do is you can mail them by searching few highschool basketball team coaches on the internet.

How can be a good basketball coach?

Depending on the age you are coaching it goes the following:Youth- Make it fun and teach them the basic moves and rulesMiddle School- Make it fun and teach them a bit advanced moves that are still basic and make them use their brain more.High School - Make it fun and make them use their brain as much as possibleCollege- It should be already fun, now make them use their skills and knowledge to their advantage by activating their brain.Seniors/Amature Team- Make it Fun for them, winning is not important just the fun.Seniors Pro Team- Make them earn their money but always help them develop into a better player.

Why doesn't my basketball coach play me?

Hi, guys. I'm a freshman girl and I'm pretty frustrated about basketball. I know I'm not the best player and I'm not going to be cocky about this. My coach hasn't been playing me and it's really frustrating. For the freshman there are two teams, an A team (better people), and a B team (with not as good people), I'm on the B team and the years I've been in basketball, I've always been on the B team and have gotten lots of playing time. This last game I literally got put in and then taken out like a minute later. I'm not amazing or anything but I thought I might get to play a bit more. I'm a very dedicated athlete. I show up for practice every day and work extremely hard. My coach even told me I was really good at defense and I was the fastest one on our team. When a person gets a fast break, I'm one of the only ones who can get there and this last match there was tons of fast breaks and our girls couldn't get to them. The same girls last game were literally in there the whole time and they were complaining about being tired and my coach didn't even do anything.

Is my basketball coach a little too close to me?

It's sexual harassment of a minor. Its illegal and unethical. The legal definition of harrasment includes things like sex jokes and body comments that make you uncomfortabke, which obviously all this does or you wouldn't be mentioning it. Here's what I would do. First, get some distance. You don't have to make up excuses to no longer be going over to his house. But as for his harassing comments, you can think about reporting him. This is unacceptable behavior in a teacher. You could go to a counselor and say you want to ask some hypothetical questions, like, " If I knew a teacher who was saying x y z, would that be harassment? What would happen to the teacher and to me if I reported such a teacher, although I'm not saying I do?" The counselor is trained in the law and ethics of the situation. If you name the coach, the counselor has an obligation to report it. So don't until you're ready. But besides yourself, realize that a guy who is making sex jokes to underage girls has a problem and probably does it to lots of girls. Maybe you don't owe them anything, but if no one reports him, what happens? Also, what's the distance between comments and a physical move? I don't know. He could just be ignorant or raised to think he's being funny. Which he isnt. Or he could have much more serious ideas in mind. You have to protect yourself.
Good, luck. As a basketball player you deserve respect, not harassment.

Unfair Basketball coach?

a person plays basketball, attends practice, has potential and talent but the coach does not involve the person in plays during practice. The person plays basketball in high school and is a jr and wants to play division 1. They have the ability to play, but the coach does play the person during practice and games. Is the coach being unfair, or is that the way it should be in a normal basketball team.

BASKETBALL RULES? BUZZER BEATER QUESTION!?

Ok, I am in Junior High and i have a question about buzzer beaters.
So my team is in a tournament game and the game is tied. Our forward shoots the ball from the corner and its short. She gets the rebound and dishes it into our post, who is one step from the lane. When the post gets the ball, she drop steps and ends up right on the block. She shoots the ball. The ball hits the backboard, bounces on the front of the rim and starts to lean in when the buzzer rings. The ball ends up going in. We end up celebrating and turn around to find the the world's worst ref says it wasn't in.

Here's the bottom line: Don't the rules say that the shot counts if the ball leaves her hand before the buzzer? If no, what are the official rules?

In case you were wondering, we lost in overtime so this is kind of important. If we don't win our season is over. The tape of the shot is under review but i would just like some back ground information.

THANKS!
