Basketball Release Help

Release Height of a Basketball?

A basketball is thrown horizontally with an initial speed of 4.90m/s (Figure 1) . A straight line drawn from the release point to the landing point makes an angle of 30.0 ∘ with the horizontal.

What was the release height?

Not quite sure how to do this? Any help would be appreciated.

How do I learn how to play basketball?

Well you can start with basketball learning youtube videos, read books, watch nba games and bla bla bla ...but wait...it won;t help trust me.So keep it simple start with basic dribbling, ball control, bounce pass and learn to take a layup shot .At first try layup shot without ball and than with ball but no dribling and last with dribbling. (you can put some markers so that there is no confusion as when to start the layup shot)And for shooting do not try fency jump shoots, 3 pointers etc , start by standing exatly below the ring and try to take a board shot from both side. After some time you can move one step back and try to use the board for basket(there is a square right above the ring which will help you to get an idea as where to put the ball) do not try to put the ball directly. The important thing is you need to learn is how to release the ball from your hand and the above metnioned exercise will help you. Just try to release the ball with a reverse spin using your fingers this will help in later stages. Most important thing is to go and start playing and start enjoing the game, all the things will come automatically.Last but not least do a proper warmup and streching before starting.hope this help :):)

A basketball player makes a jump shot. physics help?

A basketball player makes a jump shot. The 0.650-kg ball is released at a height of 1.80 m above the floor with a speed of 7.80 m/s. The ball goes through the net 3.10 m above the floor at a speed of 4.40 m/s. What is the work done on the ball by air resistance, a non-conservative force?

p.s. i have no idea how to do this because every time i try to look at it on a website it is always different than the other websites :/

Does playing basketball make you grow taller?

Researchers believe there is a direct relationship between height and basketball, there are several arguments that support this proposition. First, it is argued that constant jumpimg is the main reason basketball increases height. The continous act of jumping increases electric flow of body current to the brain which stimulates the growth hormone resulting to increased height. Basketball is a game synonymous with constant jumping in between play.Secondly, the constant jumping in basketball increases the flow of blood to crucial body parts such as the legs and spine. Jumping momentarily suspends the body in the air followed by compression when the person lands, this act, when done repeatedly, improves the blood flow to the growth palates found in the spine and in legs resulting to increased height. When repeated over a period of time, the results in height increase are bound to be noticable. There is further argument that playing basketball has direct impact on HGH levels in the body, HGH is the hormone that is responsible for increased height. Constant jumping and running involved in basketball combined with intake of highly nutritious food increases the body’s secretion of the height increasing HGH. Increased HGH results to increased height.Basketball is a game that invoves constant training, consider also that basketball players are generally tall which is a trait they genetically inherit. It is thought that the constant trainning stimulates the height gene by causing a chain of reactions in the body that make this gene more visible, the result is increased height.
