Battery Drain On Android After Kit Kat Update

Which Android version drains the battery fast, KitKat, Lollipop, or Marshmallow, or nought?

Phones running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and newer have a default mode called Doze, which reduces the amount of battery eaten up in standby mode (i.e., when the phone screen is off), by stopping most apps getting online or waking the phone with notifications. For Android phones running on the most recent version 7.0 (Nougat), the updated Doze 2.0 feature places even tighter restrictions on which apps can sync for updates while the phone screen is off (high-priority apps such as messenger and email apps make the cut – if you want), as well as how frequently they can wake the phone up.While most Android phones released in the last couple years should receive an update to Nougat this year, even if you're using an older version of Android, there's still plenty you can do to increase battery life – without changing how you use your phone (too much).I would like to say that Nought is best in this competition and KITKAT is the worst one. Try these modifications for a healthy battery-1. Check which apps are draining your battery2. Never manually close apps3. Remove unnecessary widgets from the home screen4. Turn on Airplane Mode in low-signal areas5. Turn off notifications (Unnecessary ONES)6. Charge between 40% and 80%

Why should I upgrade my Android version (still using KitKat) when the new version drains more battery and doesn’t have any big difference?

Talking about the pros :You will get a new version which you can show off(Lol). You will see drastic change in UI and apps optimizations.More customizationsBetter securityPerformance boost(if the update is well stable )Pretty much all new small or big features you will see after updating.Might improve camera performance, battery etc.Now the cons :The update might come with bugsNot well optimized OTA update will lead to many software issue like battery drain, stutry performance etc.If you have old games that are desgined for 4.4 like GTA sa 1.6 will not run on latest android (I had faced this on lollipop) many more games (but never the less the updates are available for them too if you are not tight on internet bills).Rooting will be hard (if you like).Bad camera performance due to bugs(can make the camera to suffer while clicking pics or recording)As for the conclusion I will suggest to upgrade your phone for better experience and liability because old android does sucks as seeing the udpated scenario you are using a old one and these new updated just rocks .

After updating my Moto G to Android 4.4.4 (OTA), the battery is draining at a faster rate. Is there any way to fix it?

Let phone drain till 20-25 %. Shut off phone and let it charge overnight. Then switch it on and charge it another one hour. Let it go on even if it reaches 100%. Try charging the phone for long periods only. Shorts periods mess up the battery..

Why does Lollipop for Android eat more battery than KitKat?

There's a lot of UI changes in lollipop. You can find the YI is totally changed in lollipop compared to kit-kat.The libraries used by the lollipop are much more effective and powerful.Because of using powerful libraries and extensive graphics the battery gets drained a bit faster compared to kit-kat version.

Does Android 5.0.1 Lollipop affect the battery on the HTC one M8?

If you are talking about having it affect in a positive way, yes.Disclaimer, I do not have a HTC One M8 but I have the M7 on Lollipop On my M7 I am experiencing up to 8 hours more standby time and I have discovered that there has been a great decrease in the number of wake locks my phone has in a day. For normal usage I can't say anything about cellular as I don't have a sim card inserted into the phone, but the battery drain when the device is in use has become much less significant.Worth the update, practically no drawbacks.

Motorola Mobility: After updating my Moto G to Android 5.0.2(OTA), the battery is draining at a faster rate. Is there any way to fix it or downgrade to KitKat?

Android 5.0.2 actually fixes bugs related to battery drain in Android 5.0. Backup your data and try a factory reset. Hope it will resolve the issue.

My Lenovo A6000 plus drains battery very fast, what should I do?

Hey FriendDon't worry  No need to buy new phone  U can seen the main reason of battery darning Settings >battery  Here u will see that which application is sucking your batteryMost probably it will be applications like media server or android system This is because the processors lenovo uses is over clocked .Now do as below1.delete all .mkv files (doesn't matter if it is 1 MB or 1 gb file) mostly movies saved in your phone and card 2.Go to settings   >apps> manage apps now find carefully 'media storage' first stop that app forcefully and than clear data.  (Your list of photos , mp3 and other things will be disappeared from gallery  but original files will be intact , after 3to 4 hours the phone will be automatically  generate these files don't worry , it is like removing catch memory )Reboot phone Note - whenever u will save .mkv file u will suffer with the same problem as processor cant handle .mkv file    It will work 99%

Should I switch from iPhone to Android(Samsung)?

The galaxy s6 has a very smooth OS. You should check out the reviews, not people's biased and unresearched comments. The previous iterations did not have a smooth OS, however Samsung fixed it with this one. It also has a better camera compared to the iPhone because it has optical image stabalization (6 plus has that), has f1.9 aperture and a much better camera processor. If you live in the US, the s6 will have Samsung Pay in summer which allows you to use your phone basically anywhere - from target to your local store that supports credit cards. iPhone is a good phone but the galaxy s6 really trumps it in nearly every department - litterally. Samsung also has ultra power saving mode which means you can have a day's worth of battery with only 10%. Also, get the Galaxy S6, not HTC One M9 or the LG G Flex 2 because Samsung uses exynos processors which are optimized. Snapdragon processors have overheating issues and have to run on low power to prevent it from overheating.
