Beat Happening Has The Best Drummer Ever

Is Neil Peart the best drummer ever?

I would vote yes but also give a nod to Tommy Lee!

Is there a melody in Drumming or is it just beat?

As far as I know music needs to have a melody for it to be called music.
If a drummer or timpanist plays on it's own is it considered music

Also is singing a form of talking?

Is it just me or does every AC/DC drum beat sound the same?

I've noticed that in like almost every single ac/dc song the drums sound the same...like the beat is the same in every song..is it just me?... my friend bashed them for them and i had to try my best to defend ac/dc (ac/dc being my FAVORITE band ever)..

so whats up?

What exactly was wrong with Pete Best or his drumming that got him summarily dismissed from the Beatles?

If you listen to some of the songs that were recorded with Pete Best on Anthology, you will hear that his drumming is somewhat choppy at parts - ie, he speeds up and slows down quite a bit.  He wasn't as smooth as Ringo. His style of drumming was called "the atom beat" at the time.It was actually very common to hire studio drummers at the time.  Live drummers were often not great at recording.  Live drummers could be better for improvising on the spot and jamming out, etc, but often could not stand up to the precise timing needed for studio recording.  In fact Ringo Starr himself was replaced with Andy White during his second recording session at EMI (now Abbey Road) recording studios. It's true that Pete Best was very popular with the ladies.  That probably did have something to do with his firing as well.  But, he just didn't fit in with the band in general.  He didn't hang out with them in between gigs.  They would all hang out together, he'd disappear and just show up to play gigs.  When they all got their new Beatle haircuts, he didn't go for it.  He was sullen and kind of moody.  He didn't have the quick wit for jokes and insults that the rest of them had.  It's so sad for him that it didn't work out.  I'm sure he's a great guy - the luck of Beatle Stardom just didn't go his way.

Who is the best drummer amongst Phil Collins, Neil Peart, John Bonham and Keith Moon?

Bonham is dead, so he is out of the running, but deng was he good. I liked the way he could shift the beat, play behind the beat with one rhythm and play ahead with another both at the same time. Powerful with great studio sounds.Moon is dead. Out of the running. Deng, he was good. Played all over the bar, respected none of the lines, made fills be the entire drum track. When he was sober and committed to the mission. When he wasn’t he was a liability, and someone else would have to be brought in to do the show.So that leaves us with Phil Collins and Neil Peart…Phil had played in dozens of Prog-Rock recordings and bands and is well acquainted with various percussion sound, odd time-meters and the like.I will give the edge however to Peart as he never tried to too as much as Collins, basically stayed with the same group, devoting his life to honing the craft of drumming. They are both excellent players to be sure.

What is the paul mccartney song with a army drummer boy beat for the bridge of the song?

I just listened to the pipes of peace and it is not it. Pipes of peace is very upbeat. This song has a minor feel to it. Sort of melancholy. The drummer boy part is just a singular snare drum. Sounds just like a marching beat. And I think it was only one flute. I am starting to forget the song in my head, but it had to be paul
