Been Having Really Bad Memory Loss Lately

I'm 13 years old, and I've been having a lot of memory problems lately. I've always had an excellent memory, so this is very concerning to me. What could be causing this?

i just read something that said that people who rely heavily on technology may suffer deterioration of cognitive ability. So, in case this is true, put down your smart phone and/or computer for a few hours each day and see if there’s improvement in your memory skills.

I've been having memory problems lately?

I'm in counseling for anxiety and depression. I've been on lexapro for a few months now. Recently I've been having problems remembering the things I've done in the past week(s). I looked up the side effects of my medication, and memory loss/problems isn't one of them. I forgot to ask my counselor, I forgot to...any ideas as to why this is happening? Also, I've been really frustrated, with everything. It's caused problems with me and my boyfriend and my parents.

I'm 16 and my memories really bad?

Don't worry about dementia too much, the earliest onset (and this is very rare) is typically while the patient is in their 30's, where as the more common diagnosis occur in 65+ yo's. Dementia also has many more symptoms than just memory loss, such as speech and language problems and erratic changes in mood, behaviour and personality.

Your short term memory loss (where you can't remember really recent stuff; as opposed to long term memory loss which would be not being able to remember something a year or so ago) could be due to many factors, and is probably entirely natural for you being a teenager!

One of these factors is your nutrition, if your diet lacks certain nutrients then you may develop memory problems as the brain (where your memories are stored/retrieved/interpreted) requires heaps of energy from specific foods..

This includes iron (found in both vegetables and red meat), some seafoods, and beans/dried fruit- all of these, when digested, allow more oxygen to be delivered to your brain; which consequently creates energy in your brain cells; aiding memory!

Your problem is more than likely entirely natural, I had the same problem as a teenager, and since then my memory capacity has developed and become much stronger. Just be patient and I'm sure you'll be fine!

Hope this helped.

I am a vegetarian and I have been having wicked bad memory issues lately...?

Ginko Biloba herbal supplement might help you, it boosts brain function

Also make sure that you are getting enough protein (40-50 grams/day), I could kind of understand that there may be a correlation with that but I'm not a nutritionist or anything so I could be wrong too.

Memory loss and only 19? Please help?

This is kind of long so I'm sorry, but if you have time please read!

I've always been a little forgetful, but I've been noticing lately that it's been getting extreme.
I'm only 19..not even, I'll be 19 in a month. And lately I've been having the weirdest memory loss. I know we all have those moments when we'll walk into a room and forget what we went in there to get, but mine happen daily and very often. I also find myself forgetting crazy things. For example, I'm a receptionist and have been working this job for a year to save for college. This morning I answered the phone, and when I went to transfer the call to my boss, I COMPLETELY blanked. I forgot how to do it and I sat there staring blankly at the phone for what felt like an hour before it finally clicked in what button I had to press.

Does anyone know what this means? I feel like it definitely has to be bad..aha

Oh! I should also mention that I suffer from pretty bad headaches. Not migraines, but I tend to get headaches every other day and have for the past couple of years. I always thought it was because of my eyes because my eye sight is pretty bad (I have glasses but I am not sure they are strong enough).
But now I'm not so sure if its because of my eyes. Maybe something is up in my brain?

Any advice or help is GREATLY appreciated. It's starting to effect my every day life :(

Memory loss, 22 years old, Bad problem.?

No accidents, don't drink or smoke. I have had this problem ever since I was a kid. I only have one memory of 2nd grade and that was one night at one of my teacher house. Besides that no one can convince me that I ever went to 2nd grade.

After that I didn't have memory problems or I should say I didn't notice I had memory problems until I went to high school. I could study, read book, and talk to people and would forget bits and pieces to things. I figured it was normal. Now I'm in my 3rd year of college and through out college I been having major problems like studying for a test and the next day I would forget what the test was even on. Another example would be I'm talking to my girlfriend for a good hour and within 10 seconds of hanging up the phone I will forget our conversation. Oh and my memory's never come back. Sometimes I can make them come back if I think real hard but that doesn't happen much.

I also think sometimes I'm not really on earth. Read on I'm not a freak. Like people do stuff so quickly and remember so much. I literally have to take a moment at my computer and think about what my password to my computer is even though It's the same password I have had for 7 years now. I seriously think I have a problem and I would be fine with it if it didn't get worse but lately it's been getting worse. So yeah what do you think?

P.S. Oh and when it comes to anything in reality. Like physical things like my keys, car, or how much money is in my pocket or bank account I could tell you the exact location and dollar amount. But anytime when the memory isn't a physical or real world item like a conversation or a thing I have to remember for a test I forget it like it's nothing.

I'm 15 years old and i have a bad memory!?

Im not sure quiet whats wrong but i have the same problem! to remember things is nearly asking me to do the impossible, so to avoid embarassment ive tried somethings. Writing on my hand has helped tremendously, my mom doesnt approve but whatever helps me. I always look at my hands anyway so its nearly impossible for me to miss the note i wrote on my hand. I know some people keep a folder or something with them to take notes on loose leaf of what they need to remember, but i would just forget the folder somewhere lol. hope i helped.
