it really depends on the advantages vs. the disadvantages for you and your body, being involved with body building for 15 years and smoking weed off and on through this I have found that it actually helps, what some people don't understand is that for some people it can highly motivate and better your focus throughout your workouts and it definitely helps the pain that occurs with regular weightlifting(soreness), there is a reason why alot of professional athletes smoke, it is the best pain reducer on the market, alot of people won't agree but whats better, to go drink a six pack of beer or take a couple of puffs, pot would be legal if the government could control it and make a profit from it just like they do with alcohol, but they won't and until then people will bash it, once again weed isn't for everyone and if your not over doing it it will not affect your bodybuilding, and to add, it is much better than prescription drugs that the government sales you that you have no idea the affects it will have on your body down the road, herb has been around for ever and no one has ever died from it like thousands have from alcohol or meds, I think most people would be shocked if they knew who was smoking weed in the privacy of their own homes, hope this helps and good luck with your body building

Should a guy masturbate while body building?

Umm.. Let me imagine! You’re masturbating with one hand and building biceps with another hand! :DJokes apart, I had answered a similar question few days back.I am gymming since August’2015 and this was one of the question I had clarified with my trainer during my early days.The hormone which is responsible for muscle build up is Testosterone. This is the same hormone which is also responsible for sperm formation in your body.If you’re masturbating regularly, say every day, and also gymming then the Testosterone hormone in your body will be tasked for two things: muscle buildup and also sperm production.When you masturbate, the body takes 24 hours approx. of time to refill your sperms. In this duration, if you’re gymming or doing exercise the Testosterone hormone will be busy in reproducing your sperms which your body needs.So the Testosterone hormone will not concentrate in muscle buildup and thus your body may not react to your gymming.Having said that this doesn’t mean that you should not be masturbating at all.But you must set a frequency of masturbating. Like alternate days making 3 times a week, or after 3 days making it 2 times a week or during weekends only. It depends on your lifestyle.Also you need to take care of your diet. Should bodybuilders avoid carbohydrates and fats?

Well personally I don’t but some people swear by a high protein diet. I personally eat a high fat, high carbohydrate, high sugar (but mostly fruit sugar) vegan vegetarian diet that is relatively low on protein. I probably get between 40g to 100g of protein per day most days. Some days I might even get as low as 20g but I probably don’t eat much that day. Average for me is probably about 50g per day. I don’t really pay attention. I just eat what I feel like. I’m over 115kg and about 6ft high. So obviously that’s below the 0.8g per kilogram of body weight that some sources recommend. Then again not all of my 115kg is lean weight. I do deliberately try and build up subcutaneous fat and I do have some visceral fat that I’m still trying to get rid of. I also have relatively big bones (8.5 inch wrists) and so my skeleton probably weighs a lot more than most. When I need more protein I crave the food I know has the amino acids I need and I eat it. My body can tell me if I need beans or pasta or whatever else. I do have to make sure to have enough variety available to be able to properly combine foods to provide complete amino acid requirements but it’s not that hard. I generally like I say don’t put a lot of conscious thought into it, I’m not trying to diet in any way except that I ’m vegan and I still want to gain weight as soon as my body will let me. Right now since I’m eliminating visceral fat it’s sort of hard to gain weight as fast as I’m losing that. I’m eliminating visceral fat by building abdominal muscles. It really does work and I have significant measurable progress after about a year though it may take many years of daily work to get amazing looking results.You can’t completely avoid carbohydrates and fats and eat only protein though or you WILL die. That’s called protein poisoning or rabbit starvation: Protein poisoning - Wikipedia . So I understand if you don’t want to be like me and want to go more mainstream with a high protein diet including meat. Just don’t try and eat exclusively rabbits or other lean meats! You need your fat, carbohydrates and sugar which is why your body loves it and craves it.

Is it bad to drink soda if you're trying to get bigger/build muscle?

I stopped taking sugar when I started working out. Soda contains too much sugar. Taking too much sugar will make you tired and fat. This is because he body has to react to this huge surplus of sugar by releasing insulin which makes you tired. I assure you, you will not only see better gains if you stop drinking soda, but also have more energy overall. Yes you need carbs to workout. It is however important to consider that consuming too much sugar will actually reduce the amount of carbs available to you. This is why fruits are good for bodybuilders. Fruits contain fructose which is a type of sugar that does not cause an influx of insulin to be released. So it remains in your bloodstream which gives you a good supply of energy.I hope you achieve what you are looking for in your physique. In order to achieve our goals we must often stop doing things we enjoy but we all know it will be worth it in the end. Can we drink beer after drinking whey protein?

You can drink anything you like after drinking whey protein, personally i wouldnt because i dont drink alcohol at all as i find the drug extremely counter productive. Alcohol is also a diuretic so if your trying to add mass and weight its not good but if its the 24hrs before a bodybuilding competition it can be used to pull the last bit of water out.
