Being Too Tall Problems

What is it like to be tall in India? What problems are faced?

I am 6 feet 3 inches tall.I am too much frustrated with this height.I can't find shoes. I am too much concerned as being a middle class Fellow, I can't afford much. With a low budget it's nearly impossible to get 13 UK size shoes.Look, this is a slipper of size 11UK. Still my foot touches the road.I am only using one pair of shoes from last 3 years as I couldn't find any other pair. Still searching. In my SSB Interviews I had to wear sports shoes under formal dress. Every a time I went in confrence, it was an embarassing moment for me.I am regular traveller in sleeper coach buses. I am really tired of travelling in buses. Every bus is a headache for me.When I book sitting seat, my legs touch the front seat. Hence, I end up getting a back pain. When I book a sleeper, again my legs don't fit their. Hence, I end up getting a back pain again. Now I don't book any seats, I sleep in the gallery on the floor in night keeping all my shyness away. Atleast I don't get back pain.Again frustrating.Being tallest fellow of my college group, I am often used as a selfie stick by my friends. And I hate taking selfies.Again frustrating. When you are in public, people give a strange stare. And they often judge you as an arrogant Fellow who is proud of his height and weight.Too frustrating. In coaching, whenever I sit in front row, everyone starts shouting as they are unable to see. I am also unable to see because of weak eyesight so I prefer seats. But had to go back because of whole class.Again frustrating.Only I am happy because in my home town nearly every fellow is above 6 ft. So we can move freely and won't feel frustrated.Hope I could donate my height.Jai Hind ❤

Is 6'9 too tall?

no, you can never be "too tall" (im 5 foot...lol). Plus I'll bet youre awesome at basketball...was your daddy shaq? jk...

How tall is too tall?

I'd say anything over 6'4" begins to get too tall. I'm 6'1" and already feel noticeably taller than most people in the USA. I can't imagine being 3 inches taller I'd feel like a giant amongst smurfs. When I do encounter people who tower over me I don't envy them because they probably have issues from being so tall.

Can you die from being too tall?

Because im a highschool freshman and im "6-3" and I dont want to grow over "7" ft because 1. it'll cause problems 2. it's unnatractive and 3. I wont be able to get "hang time" when I dunk in my school's gym

Why am I so tall!?!?!?!?

genetics, like most people.
If you were 6'5 or something freakish i would say pituitary gland problem or something. But sounds like your just tall.
If you want to stop growing you could just not eat, but i think that would cause more problems than being tall.

Is there such thing as too tall?

Drew, I am 5'5'', and my significant other is exactly your height, 6'4''. I LOVE having him that tall. Trust me, girls will never (ok, almost never, there are those rare exceptions...) stick with a guy that is shorter than them. You are golden being as tall as you are. Every girl I know loves tall guys. If anything, you have a slight advantage over those other short men. Girls will almost be "attracted" to you if you are tall. I know that I am. No worries. You are perfect being as tall as you are. Once girls come, help them stay. That is the only clincher. I have known a few tall guys to be jerks. So just be kind and sweet, but most importantly be YOU and you will have very few problems getting a girl. If so, you need to come out to where I am, and you will be taken. ;) jk, I know that that isn't really an option. but stll, tall is very good.

Why is being tall good?

I hate being tall, i'm 6'1 and I wish I was in 5'7-5-10 range! being short brings all types of benefits like being able to compete in more sports like gymnastics, sking, and skateboarding. The taller you get, the more balance you lose, and the more balance you lose, the more lankier you are. Your strength depletes from you as well, because lifting becomes more difficult from your long arms and long legs! Imagine squating alot of weight when you're 6'4 or more; almost imposssible! Shorter people are known to be faster, stronger, competant in every way, and even more handsome! They're fast and quick; just look at Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee, Van Damme, Phillip Rhee, Simon Rhee, and Jackie Chan! Boxers like; Mike Tyson, Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Sugar Shane Mosley, Tommy Hearns, Ken Norton, and Sugar Ray Robinson. Trackstars to football stars; alot of them was short. All of them got another thing in common too, and that is that they are all the best of the best!

Any instances (funny or not) when soldiers height was a problem? Too short or too tall?

I used to want to be a helicopter pilot. Back in 1988 I went through a flight physical for the Army. Technically, it is called a Flying Duty Medical Examination (or FDME). Fun times. I won’t get into all of the invasive, cringeworthy details of the exam here. One of our medical tests was quite odd. We had to enter a small room (one at a time) with a stool bolted to the floor. We were each instructed to sit on the stool with our feet flat on the floor and face forward. So far, so good. Next, we were instructed, “Without taking your feet from the floor, touch the walls.” I’m only 5′ 7″ and there was no way no matter how hard I stretched that I could touch the walls. I was upset because I thought I had failed an important component of the physical. The examiner made a note in my chart and waived me on to the next station. Turns out, that by not being able to touch the walls, I passed the test. If a flight candidate was able to touch the walls, it would illustrate that their limbs were too long (in the opinion of the Army) to effectively operate a rotary winged aircraft. Of course the taller guys tended to have the longer reach, and some washed out at this station. In case anyone is interested, the current FDME requires a flight candidate to have a sitting height of 40.15 inches or less and an arm reach of 64.56 inches or more to meet part of the required physical criteria.** US Army HH-60M Black Hawk MEDEVAC helicopter
