My parents just lost $375,000.00 in the stock market today, yes their retirement money.?
james... tell your mom to calm down and study history as long as the money lost is in companies that are still solvent it WILL come back... historically after a market dive there are two scenarieos... one all lost funds are recovered within 9 months.. in the other it takes closer to five or six years.... but either way the market has NEVER lost money over a ten year stretch... tell her to old on buckle down and dont' give up.. the people that get hurt are the ones that bail out on stocks at the bottom.. then cry as the market goes up.... keep in mind tht if the bailout fails the market may well drop anouther 2-3 k in the next month.
Stock market vs Forex what recommended for beginners and why ?
hi all i want to know what exactly are the advantages and disadvantages of each market In relation to the other market . so a beginner like me who only has few 1000s' dollars ( 5000$ - 6000$ something in between ) do you recommend me to learn and invest my money in forex or stock market ? Is it safe to shoot a large caliber rifle from the prone position?
This depends on the person. I have seen some men and women who weighed under 160 lbs handle that same caliber in a prone position. And I have seen many much larger than that who could not. A lot of it has to do with how physical fit you are. And honesty some people even fit just cant take the pounding. Im near 60 and weigh 220 @ 6+ foot tall and I could shoot say 2 boxes of the 300 win mag or 338 win mag before it was just too much. But then Im a recoil junky lol. You can add different kinds of recoil pads to reduce the beating. You put one of those on a .300 win mag and it kicks like a 30-30. At least that’s how it felt to me after I put one on a friends .300 win mag.
19 year old interested in stock investing where do I start?
i have about $8000 something saved from working (make $8.25 an hour) and i calculated how much i'm set to make this year and it's around $10,000 - $13,000. so i can have about $20,000 - $22,000 saved at age 20. I want to learn how the stock market works before I can play with the big boys. Any books I can read that will inform me about stock investing, etc? Any advice from YOU is welcomed!
