Best Alice In Wonderland Based/inspired Spin Off Shows Movies And Books

Best Alice in Wonderland based/inspired spin off shows, movies and books??

Well, although this is a character from Batman, i'm going to say the mad hatter

Curiouser and curiouser! But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.'Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: 'we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.''How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.'You must be,' said the Cat, 'or you wouldn't have come here.'Lewis Carroll’s book is extremely quotable. Here are lots of them:Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

I assume you mean book editions.I have one edition illustrated with the Disney animated picture, which is pretty cute and kids like it, then I have this huge tome which is “Lewis Carroll’s complete works”, containing the Alice story, but my favorite is this:The Annotated Alice: The Definitive Edition: Lewis Carroll, Martin Gardner, John TennielWhich is the Annotated Alice Courtney mentions in his answer plus Tenniel’s original illustrations.I find the title “the Definitive Edition” to be really appropriate. Really cool stuff!

It’s not an adult book in the usual sense, however, grown ups can still learn quite a lot from children’s books. When I first read Alice’s adventures in Wonderland I must have been 10 or so. I read it again two weeks ago and found a few interesting things that a child wouldn’t necessarily understand the way an adult will.I wrote a post about it with the things I got out of it. You can have a look if you want - Alice's adventures in Wonderland for adults - Eli Zheleva

There are none that I can recall, only some that may have some implied romance or if you want really hard to ship some characters. Here are titles that you can check out:Alice in the Country of Hearts: Wonderful Wonder World - movie based on a visual game, so there's not much substance there either, but there are lots of psychotic bishounen to look at.Miyuki-chan in Wonderland - a 2 episode OVA made by CLAMP but all characters are female and usually gorgeous.Pandora Hearts (a pretty dark show)Kagihime Monogatari - Eikyuu Alice Rondo (not a show I enjoyed, as it's a pretty wrapper without much substance).Fushigi no kuni no Alice - a TV series based on the actual book. This is pretty much it.There are shows that have 'alice' as a power, but they are not 'Alice in Wonderland'-themed, like Gakuen Alice or Rozen Maiden. If you're interested, there are quite a few shows that are 'Person in a strange world'-themed.

Alice in Wonderland Adaptations?

I am looking for movies (or books) that are adaptations of Alice in Wonderland. I recently saw Alice created by the SyFy network, which was a very good movie, and my all time favorite Alice in Wonderland adaptation. I'm looking for something along those lines as it has a romantic twist off the original. So, basically, are there any more Alice in Wonderland adaptations that have romance in them (preferably the romance the main part of the plot, but it could just be a small part of the story). Thanks!

Hi, here are some of the puns that I found in the book. Hope they are sufficient and are what you are looking for.In the third chapter of the book (‘A Caucus-Race and A Long Tale’) the mouse recites “dry” history in order to dry the animals who were wet from Alice’s tears:At last the Mouse, who seemed to be a person of authority among them, called out, 'Sit down, all of you, and listen to me! I'll soon make you dry enough!' They all sat down at once, in a large ring, with the Mouse in the middle. Alice kept her eyes anxiously fixed on it, for she felt sure she would catch a bad cold if she did not get dry very soon.'Ahem!' said the Mouse with an important air, 'are you all ready? This is the driest thing I know. Silence all round, if you please! "William the Conqueror, whose cause was favoured by the pope, was soon submitted to by the English, who wanted leaders, and had been of late much accustomed to usurpation and conquest. Edwin and Morcar, the earls of Mercia and Northumbria—"'Also in the same chapter, the Mouse and Alice have the following exchange:'Mine is a long and a sad tale!' said the Mouse, turning to Alice, and sighing.'It is a long tail, certainly,' said Alice, looking down with wonder at the Mouse's tail' 'but why do you call it sad?'In chapter 6 (‘Pig and Pepper’), the Duchess and Alice engage in a quip about axis/axes:“Which would not be an advantage,” said Alice, who felt very glad to get an opportunity of showing off a little of her knowledge. “Just think of what work it would make with the day and night! You see the earth takes twenty-four hours to turn around on its axis—”“Talking of axes,” said the Duchess, “chop off her head!”And finally, in chapter 9, the Mock Turtle makes a clever pun on lessons:“And how many hours a day did you do lessons?” asked Alice, in a hurry to change the subject.“Ten hours the first day,” said the Mock Turtle: “nine the next, and so on.”“What a curious plan!” exclaimed Alice.“That’s the reason they’re called lessons,” the gryphon remarked: “because they lessen from day to day.”
